Vehicle leveler with door interlock
12006170 · 2024-06-11 · ·

A vehicle leveler which includes a first portion with a leading edge and a trailing edge, the trailing edge is disposed further from the driveway than the leading edge. The leveler also includes a second portion with a leading edge and a trailing edge, the leading edge of the second portion is disposed further from the driveway than the trailing edge of the second portion. The vehicle leveler has a door interlock system with at least one pair of photoelectric sensors with a sensor path. When a vehicle is being loaded or unloaded on the vehicle leveler, and at least one of the vehicle doors is opened, the door blocks the sensor path of the photoelectric sensors and prevents the vehicle leveler from lowering or raising.

Method and system for loading a motor vehicle

A method is provided for loading a motor vehicle using an optimized loading strategy. The optimized loading strategy is determined with the help of a computer. The method includes the following acts: acquiring characteristics of a plurality of objects to be transported, using a recording device, for example a camera and/or a scanner and/or using a reader device such as an RFID receiver; using the acquired characteristic to determine the dimensions, particularly a height, width and depth of each of the objects; establishing the optimized loading strategy for the motor vehicle as a function of the dimensions of the objects that have been determined and depending on the type of motor vehicle being loaded; and visualizing the loading strategy.

System and method for detection of loading location

A control system for determining a location of loading of a machine operating at a worksite is provided. The control system includes a controller coupled to a dump switch. The controller receives a dump signal and velocity data associated with the machine. The velocity data includes a speed of the machine at various positions along a route followed by the machine from a first dump location to a second dump location. The controller identifies the first dump location, the second dump location, and a plurality of stops made along the route. The controller estimates, a first distance and a second distance between the stop and each of the dump locations. The controller estimates a baseline distance between the dump locations and assigns a weighting factor to the stops. Further, the controller determines a load location from the plurality of stops based on the assigned weighting factors.

Changing vehicle component settings to retain cargo within the vehicle

Described herein are systems and methods for retaining cargo. A system for retaining cargo may comprise a sensor and a system controller. The system controller may be configured to determine presence of cargo in a vehicle; determine dimensions of the cargo based, at least in part, on data received from the sensor; determine a storage location for the cargo based, at least in part, on one or more of: the dimensions of the cargo, interior dimensions of the vehicle, and interior components of the vehicle; determine a first position for a first one of the interior components, the first position determined based, at least in part, on one or more of: the storage location, and a location for retaining the cargo for transport; create a first message indicating the storage location for the cargo and the position for the first one of the interior components; and transmit the message.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE CARRIER SYSTEM WITH RAMP
20190061595 · 2019-02-28 ·

A carrier system and method for assisting in handling cargo of a vehicle. A carrier container includes an interior storage space surrounded by a front side facing the rear of the vehicle, rear, left, right, and bottom sides, and an open top that allows access to the interior storage space with a lid that closes and opens the top. A carrier support structure mounted to the carrier container is inserted into the hitch of the vehicle and holds the top surface of the container flush with the cargo bed of the vehicle. The lid is opened to deploy a ramp stored inside which is anchored to the container so that it is flush with the top surface of the container and reaches the ground. The lid is closed and a bridge plate commonly hinged with the lid is deployed over any gap between the cargo bed and the container top, providing a continuous surface between the cargo bed and the ground for use by pets for ingress and egress of the vehicle and for handling cargo.
