Paper roll dispenser
A dispenser for rolled paper includes a shell mounted to a spindle assembly which is mounted to a wall for convenient access in a bathroom or other facility. The dispenser also includes a lid assembly mounted to the shell and spindle assembly for rotational or pivotal movement to and between closed and open configurations. When in the closed configuration, a free edge of the paper roll may be pulled from the roll and the roll rotates on the spindle assembly for dispensing the paper. The paper roll may be inspected and/or replaced by rotation of the lid assembly about a pivot pin to an open configuration. Cooperating cam and cam surfaces and the bias of a spring on the pivot pin urge the lid assembly away from the shell during rotation toward the open configuration to allow for proper clearance and positioning of the lid assembly relative to the shell.
PRINTER AND MERCHANDISE INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
A printer according to an embodiment includes a printing unit that prints on a sheet. The sheet is discharged through an outlet. The sheet is conveyed on a sheet conveyance path through the printing unit and to the outlet. A movable device is located on the sheet conveyance path upstream of the outlet in a sheet conveying direction. The movable device can move between a separation position, a proximity position, and a protruding position. A detection device detects a position of the movable device. A controller determines a conveyance abnormality of the sheet based on the state of the movable device detected by the detection device, and outputs a signal indicating the conveyance abnormality.
EMERGENCY STOP CUTTING MECHANISM FOR A WEB REWINDING DEVICE
This invention provides web-cutting mechanism that can be mounted in line at an appropriate location between the web-handling peripheral (printer) and a web roll. The cutting mechanism operates before the available storage in the winder festoon has been exhausted, and decouples the roll's energy from the web. The cutting mechanism can employ a blade that is drawn through the web solely by the movement of the web itself. The blade is mounted at a (e.g.) 45-degree angle to web travel, causing it to be pulled through the web. A negator spring assembly and associated cable drives the blade into the side edge of the web when a slide-mounted blade shuttle assembly is released by a latching pawl of a solenoid assembly. The solenoid is triggered by a signal indicating an emergency stop condition, such as an upstream jam.

Winding device
A winding device for successively winding at least one material web, particularly a plastic film web, onto spools. The winding device includes a machine frame, at least one wheel which is mounted on the machine frame in a manner allowing rotation, at least two winding points for carrying the spools, which are mounted in the wheel in a manner allowing rotation, of which a first winding point is positionable in a winding position, and a second winding point is positionable in a loading and/or unloading position, with at least one guard element that is pivotably positionable in a region between the spools respectively associated with the first winding point and the second winding point.

Web-guiding or sheet-guiding machine, and method of operating the same
A web-guiding or sheet-guiding machine has at least one roller nip, and at least one roller, which delimits the roller nip or is located downstream of the roller nip on a transport path, that is driven by an electric drive. A power controller is assigned to the electric drive, and the machine has a safety device to monitor whether foreign bodies are penetrating the roller nip and/or whether a specified torque for the drive is being maintained. The safety device has a first measuring device to monitor at least one first electric variable of the power to the drive by the power controller, a second measuring device to measure a second physical variable having a functional relationship with the first electric variable, and a computer module to compare time sequences of the two variables and generate warning signals in the event of deviations in the time sequence.
Sheet feeding device and image forming apparatus incorporating same
A sheet feeding device includes a sensor, a roller, a support, circuitry, and a spool. The sensor detects a step at a leading end of a sheet roll. The roller and the sensor are disposed at different positions in a circumferential direction of the sheet roll. The support supports the sensor and the roller to bring the sensor and the roller into contact with the sheet roll. The circuitry acquires a sensor signal. The spool is insertable through a sheet tube of the sheet roll to rotate the sheet roll. The sensor and the roller face an axial center of the spool. The support is pivotable within a range in which the sensor does not contact the spool. The circuitry detects first and second inclinations of the sensor signal when the leading end passes by the roller and the sensor, respectively, to determine whether the leading end is present.
Learned model generation method and apparatus
First group data indicating a position of a first end surface of a first sheet material and second group data indicating a position of a second end surface of a second sheet material are acquired from an inspection machine, and information indicating whether or not a winding body has a defect, and which constituent of a sheet material supplier is a cause of the defect in a case where the winding body has the defect, on the basis of a positional relationship among continuous positions of the first end surface indicated by the first group data, continuous positions of the second end surface indicated by the second group data, and reference lines, is output to a display for maintenance.
