IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus includes a stacking portion, a feeding unit, a reading unit, and a discharge portion provided below the stacking portion. The feeding unit feeds a sheet stacked on the stacking portion in a feeding direction. The reading unit reads an image on the fed sheet and the discharge portion discharges the read sheet. The stacking portion includes first and second support surfaces that support the sheet and first and second regulating units to regulate a position of the sheet in a widthwise direction using two opposing ends of the sheet. The second support surface is retractable from a predetermined section above the discharge portion. The first support surface includes a downstream support portion that supports the sheet on a downstream side of the predetermined section in the feeding direction. A part of the second regulating surface is positioned on the downstream support portion.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a discharging tray for supporting a sheet, an operation panel and a supporting member. The sheet is discharged toward a sheet discharging direction that is a direction toward which the sheet is discharged. The operation panel is located at a position which is different from the position of the discharging tray in a width direction orthogonal to the sheet discharging direction and above the discharging tray. The supporting member is disposed at the discharging tray and capable of supporting the discharged sheet with the discharging tray. A front end portion of the supporting member is located above an upper surface of the discharging tray. At least a part of the front end portion of the supporting member overlaps the operation panel when viewed in the width direction.

A front end portion of the supporting member is located above an upper surface of the discharging tray. A control method for forming an image includes receiving a pending image-forming job, and obtaining pending image-forming data and image-forming configuration information in the pending image-forming job, the image-forming configuration information including total page number corresponding to the pending image-forming job; performing image-forming operation on an image-forming medium according to the pending image-forming data and the image-forming configuration information; under satisfied predetermined conditions, controlling a discharge distance of at least one page of the image-forming medium of the pending image-forming data to be different from a discharge distance of other pages of the image-forming medium, or controlling a discharge distance of at least one page of the image-forming medium of the pending image-forming job to be different from a discharge distance of the image-forming medium of a previous image-forming job.
