A paper stack press machine comprises a base 1 with a press surface 2, a pressing plate 5, and a pressing plate drive mechanism 6 moving the pressing plate between a standby position at which the pressing plate separates from a paper stack S on the press surface and a press position at which the pressing plate presses the paper stack against the press surface. A surface of the pressing plate facing the press surface is elastically deformable. A pushing bar 11a is arranged at the second side of the pressing plate so as to be movable in an axial direction thereof between a retracted position at which the pushing bar separates from the paper stack and an advanced position at which the pushing bar pushes the paper stack against the press surface.

The invention relates to a device and to a method for transferring a functional layer, in particular a catalyst-coated membrane (2) and/or a gas diffusion layer for a membrane electrode assembly, onto a first material web, wherein: precuts (20) of a functional layer are transferred onto a moving counter surface with a first spacing (x1); the precuts (20) are supplied by means of a second material web (3) with a second spacing; the first spacing (x1) is greater than the second spacing (x2); the second material web (5), at least in a handover portion for carrying over a precut (20) moves synchronously with a conveying speed of the counter surface and is braked relative to the conveying speed to change the spacing; and the dispensing edge (6) in the first transport direction (1) relative to the second material web (5) is adjusted in order to create a braking and acceleration section for the precuts (20) moving discontinuously with the second material web (5).
Feeder for feeding document to document imaging system and method for feeding documents
A method and apparatus for processing documents are provided. The apparatus includes a feeder for receiving a packet of a plurality of documents and separating the documents to serially feed the documents to a scanner. A retard adjacent the feeder is operable in first and second positions. In the first position the retard forms a nip with the feeder so that the retard is operable to impede the progress of one or more documents in the packet while the feeder feeds one of the documents in the packet. In the second position, the retard is spaced apart from the feeder to form a gap between the feeder and the retard. The system further includes a sensor for detecting a characteristic of the documents in a packet indicative of whether the number of documents in the packet exceeds a predetermined threshold. A drive mechanism automatically drives the retard pad between the first and second positions in response to the detected characteristic.
Feeder for feeding document to document imaging system and method for feeding documents
A method and apparatus for processing documents are provided. The apparatus includes a feeder for receiving a packet of a plurality of documents and separating the documents to serially feed the documents to a scanner. Tape feed apparatus and method for a self-piercing rivet machine
A receiver assembly can be coupled to a spindle to receive self-piercing rivets carried by a tape along a tape path below a punch. A reverse locking pawl can be designed to permit movement of the tape relative to the reverse locking pawl along the tape path in a forward direction and to engage a positioning aperture of the tape to stop movement of the tape in the reverse direction when a lead rivet is aligned with the punch. A method can include moving the tape forward along the tape path until a lead rivet of the tape is at a position along the tape path that is beyond an alignment position with the punch, and moving the tape in reverse to engage the corresponding positioning aperture.

Provided is method of producing a glass roll, the method including: a conveying step of conveying a glass film (G) along a longitudinal direction thereof; a cutting step of irradiating the glass film (G) with a laser beam (L) from a laser irradiation apparatus (19) while conveying the glass film (G) by the conveying step, to thereby separate the glass film (G) into a non-product portion (Gc) and a product portion (Gd); and a take-up step of taking up the product portion (Gd) into a roll shape, to thereby form a glass roll (R). The cutting step includes winding a thread-like peeled material (Ge) generated from an end portion of the product portion (Gd) in a width direction around a rod-shaped collecting member (20a), to thereby collect the thread-like peeled material (Ge).
