Methods of conveying a glass ribbon are provided that each includes the step of conveying the glass ribbon over a support device with a cushion of fluid supporting the glass ribbon over the support device. Each method further includes the step of monitoring a physical contact event between the glass ribbon and the support device by detecting an acoustic signal associated with the physical contact event. In further examples, glass ribbon conveying apparatus are provided that each includes a support device configured to support a glass ribbon over the support device with a cushion of fluid. Each apparatus further includes an acoustic sensor configured to monitor a physical contact event between the glass ribbon and the support device by detecting an acoustic signal associated with the physical contact event.

The yarn feed assembly has a weighted member slideably received in the elongate interior chamber such that, upon pulling one yarn off of the wound yarn source, through a bore of the weighted member and into the yarn feed tube, the weighted member is axially movable along a longitudinal axis of the frame member such that the bore of the weighted member is axially movable about and between a bottom end and a top end of the elongate slot in response to tension applied to the yarn as a result of yarn hang ups on the wound yarn source.

The invention relates to a presser finger (4) which is a component of a winder for winding a roving on to a rotating bobbin (1) with a longitudinal axis (10). The presser finger (4) has a carrying arm (40) with a longitudinal axis (8) and a roving 4 guide element. The presser finger (4) also has a guide plate (5) for guiding the roving on to a rotating bobbin (1). The presser finger (4) is alternatingly movable in the direction (X) of the longitudinal axis (10) of the rotating bobbin (1), and this movement of the presser finger (4) is provided by a drive means. The invention also relates to a roving winder with the aforementioned presser finger (4) and a method of winding a roving with the aid of the aforementioned presser finger (4).

The wall has an inner surface and an outer surface. The base extends from the lower surface of the wall. The base has a top surface and a bottom surface. The base is disposed transverse to the wall at a non-perpendicular angle to define a space between the bottom surface of the base and the support plane. The inner surface of the wall and the top surface of the base define a receiving pocket configured to receive a wheel of the vehicle therein, whereby the outer surface of the wall guides a longitudinal flexible member around the wheel of the vehicle.

The present invention relates to a traversing element (1) for a spinning machine (26), wherein the traversing element (1) comprises a guide segment (2) by means of which a roving (3) may be guided in the region of a surface of a tube (4) or of a roving bobbin (5), and wherein the traversing element (1) comprises a support segment (6) via which it may be connected to a support member (7) of the spinning machine (26). According to the invention it is suggested that the traversing element (1) comprises at least one cavity (8) that is closed with respect to the outside and is partially filled with a liquid (9), wherein heat that occurs in the region of the guide segment (2) due to friction between the guide segment (2) and the roving (3) guided by the guide segment (2) when the traversing element (1) is operating may be absorbed by the liquid (9). In addition, a spinning machine (26) having a corresponding traversing element (2) is proposed.

A threading device of a sewing machine includes a flow path switching member, a base portion, and a plurality of thread introducing portions. The flow path switching member includes a gaseous body inlet portion for receiving a compressed gaseous body, a gaseous body outlet portion provided to communicate with the gaseous body inlet portion for exhausting the gaseous body, and a cylindrical outer surface portion at which the gaseous body outlet portion is opened. The base portion includes a cylindrical inner surface portion into which the cylindrical outer surface portion of the flow path switching member is inserted and for supporting the flow path switching member in a rotatable manner, and a plurality of flow paths formed to communicate with the cylindrical inner surface portion. The plurality of thread introducing portions are provided at the base portion to communicate with respective outlet sides of the plurality of flow paths.
