Changing element for a spinning machine, and spinning machine equipped with said changing element
A traversing element is provided for a spinning machine that produces a roving. The traversing element includes a guide segment disposed to guide the roving onto a surface of a tube or a roving bobbin, and a support segment. The guide segment is configured at an end of the support segment and an opposite end of the support segment is connectable to a support of the spinning machine. A closed cavity is provided in the traversing element, the closed cavity partially filled with a liquid. Heat that occurs in the guide segment due to friction between the guide segment and the roving when the traversing element is operating is absorbed by the liquid.
THREAD GUIDE WEAR TESTING MACHINE AND THREAD GUIDE WEAR TESTING METHOD
A thread guide wear testing machine wears a test piece by causing a thread to slide while the thread contacts the test piece. The thread guide wear testing machine includes a winding reel winding the thread thereon fed from thread feeder. A winding drum guides the thread fed from the thread feeder to the winding reel. The winding drum has an outer peripheral surface contacting an outer peripheral surface of the winding reel. Specimen holder is on a path of the thread fed from the thread feeder and moves while being wound on the winding reel. The specimen holder holds the test piece in contact with the thread under a predetermined load. Tension adjuster adjusts tension on the thread when the test piece is in contact. Contact retainer retains a state of contact between the winding reel and the winding drum by pressing the winding reel toward the winding drum.
Guide apparatus for long object
The guide apparatus for a long object comprises: a movable portion that is capable of reciprocal movement in a reciprocal direction; a fixed portion; a pair of sheets that have flexibility; and a guide member. The fixed portion is fixed so that the movement in the reciprocal direction is not possible. The pair of sheets, with a curved part formed at an intermediate position in the longitudinal direction, couple the movable portion and the fixed portion. The guide member reciprocates in the reciprocal direction while guiding the movable portion and the pair of sheets so that the pair of sheets reciprocate in the reciprocal direction as the curved part is shifted in accordance with the reciprocal movement of the movable portion. The guide member forms, together with the pair of sheets, a storage chamber for storing a long object.

Wire Inventory Indexing System
A computerized discrete wire inventory indexing system organizes and automates the intake of wiring used in a wire harness assembly work cell. Functions in a work cell may be duplicated into a second arrangement symmetrically opposite to a first arrangement so that an indexing system in accordance with the invention may operate between or alongside the adjacent work cells to execute its tasks in tandem and produce pairs of wires to be used within the two work cells. The wire indexing system operates with a tandem wire pulling machine on a movable shuttle that grabs pairs of wires from the indexing system and draws them to length. Both the shuttle and the wire indexing system may includes fixtures for stripping and terminating wires by crimping terminals onto prepared wire ends. Computer control enables rapid and correct wire production and efficient process change-overs.

Apparatus and method for reducing whip damage on wound optical fiber
An apparatus for reducing fiber whip damage to optical fiber wound on a fiber winding spool is provided. The apparatus includes a fiber entry feed mechanism operatively coupled to the fiber winding spool to feed the optical fiber onto the fiber winding spool. The apparatus also includes a whip shield arranged to substantially surround the fiber winding spool. The whip shield includes a first surface aligned with and facing the fiber winding spool within an entry slot that is laterally offset from a second surface. The first surface transitions to the second surface such that a loose end of the optical fiber is initially directed into the entry slot away from the fiber winding spool and transitions to the second surface.
Guide device
A guide device is provided that includes a base portion defining a platform and a tab, and a support member positioned between the platform and the tab and extending upwardly. In one form, the tab defines a continuous series of profiled geometric surfaces at an intersection between the tab and the support member, and the platform is adapted to receive an external component for stabilization. In another form, the tab defines at least one profiled geometric surface. The present disclosure further provides an assembly that includes an object having a ground interface and a guide device.

YARN FEEDER
A portable yarn feeder that is attachable to an object and provides a secure and constricted environment in which yarn can be fed freely without the yarn tangling or becoming damaged. The feeder includes a housing that has an exterior sidewall with a first opening formed therein and interior walls that are contiguous to each other and an inner surface of the exterior wall and include a second opening formed therein that is offset from the first opening.
