A device (1) for feeding self-adhesive or pressure sensitive labels to a labelling machine comprises a frame (2) and supporting means (3) comprising a supporting plate (17) for supporting a reel (4) of web (5) with labels applied to it, and also comprises at least one guide element (28, 29) designed to be at least partly inserted in a central hole (7) of the reel (4) which can rotate about it. The device (1) also comprises a detaching station (8) for detaching the labels from the web (5), feeding means (9) for feeding the web (5) to the detaching station (8) and recovery means (10) for recovering the web (5) without labels. The supporting plate (17) is removably associated with the frame (2) and the supporting means (3) also comprise a containment head (30) switchable between an open configuration, in which it allows the coupling with and uncoupling from the frame (2) of the supporting plate (17), with the reel (4) placed on it, and an operating configuration, in which it allows the reel (4) to be held between itself and the supporting plate (17), allowing reel (4) rotation.

A web retractor includes a frame having spaced-apart side walls, a spool rotatably mounted between the side walls, a web having one end mounted to the spool, the spool rotatable in a web take-up direction to wrap the web onto the spool and in a web pay out direction to unwrap the web from the spool, and a web take-up prevention apparatus movably mounted to the frame and responsive to actuation thereof to move relative to the frame to impart a resistance directly on the web sufficient to prevent the spool from rotating in the web take-up direction while also allowing the spool to rotate in the web pay out direction by pulling the web away from the retractor.

An apparatus for removing flexible filament from a spool. The apparatus includes a spool body and an end cap with a tension arm. It is designed to be inserted into a drill chuck and filament like fishing line is wound about the spool body and tension arm. After the line is wound, the end cap and tension arm piece is removed from the spool body and the line is removed.

An example of the device is useful for both preventing damage to spools and permitting damaged spools to be continued to be used. The elastic spool protector may include a disk-shaped member and a rim portion. In one example, an elastic spool protector is capable of being positioned on a flange of a wire reel. In one example, and an edge region of a flange may be received between a main portion and a lip portion of the elastic spool protector. The elastic spool protector may include one or more of various elastomeric materials.

A tape kit includes an outer sleeve defining a front sleeve portion and a rear sleeve portion opposite the front sleeve portion; a first end tape strip configured to seal a first end seam of a package; a second end tape strip configured to seal a second end seam of the package; and a transverse tape strip configured to seal a transverse seam of the package, wherein each of the first end tape strip, the second end tape strip and the transverse tape strip are at least partially surrounded by the outer sleeve in a packaged configuration so that the transverse tape strip is positioned between the rear sleeve portion and the first and second end tape strips.
