POLYNUCLEOTIDE SEQUENCES AND PROTEINS ENCODED THEREBY USEFUL FOR MODIFYING PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

The present invention relates to isolated nucleic acid molecules and their corresponding encoded polypeptides. The present invention further relates to the uses of these nucleic acid molecules and polypeptides. For example, the nucleic acid molecules and polypeptides could be used in making enzymes or used to make plants, plant cells, plant materials or seeds of a plant having such modulated growth or phenotype characteristics that are altered with respect to wild type plants grown under similar conditions.

Brassica GAT event and compositions and methods for the identification and/or detection thereof

Compositions and methods related to transgenic glyphosate tolerant Brassica plants are provided. Specifically, the present invention provides Brassica plants having a DP-073496-4 event which imparts tolerance to glyphosate. The Brassica plant harboring the DP-073496-4 event at the recited chromosomal location comprises genomic/transgene junctions within SEQ ID NO: 2 or with genomic/transgene junctions as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 12 and/or 13. The characterization of the genomic insertion site of the event provides for an enhanced breeding efficiency and enables the use of molecular markers to track the transgene insert in the breeding populations and progeny thereof. Various methods and compositions for the identification, detection, and use of the event are provided.

Application of ultrasound in vinification processes

The present invention refers to a method and an equipment for the extraction of compounds from grapes by means of ultrasound in vinification processes generated through a sonoplate coupled to the walls of the pipe/duct through which the crushed grapes flow. During this extraction the transfer of phenols responsible for color from the solid portion (skin) to the liquid portion after crushing the grapes takes place as a consequence of the phenomenon known as cavitation, which allows the breaking of the skin cells and makes the phenolic compounds responsible for the color available to the liquid medium to be integrated in said liquid medium enhancing wine color.

Food products that contain zein, and related methods

Described are food products including doughs, extrudates, and finished food products derived therefrom, that contain zein protein, e.g., zein protein ingredient, wherein the zein protein improves processing or textural characteristics of the food product.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING STONE FRUIT
20210244065 · 2021-08-12 ·

A method for processing fruit (10) that has a central stone (11) and flesh (12) surrounding the stone, said method comprising the steps of:—positioning the fruit (10) inside a casing (2) in which a rotating element (3) rotates, said casing (2) comprising at least one outlet hole (21);—removing from the stone (11) at least a part of the flesh (12) attached to the stone (11); The step of removing from the stone (11) at least a part of the flesh (12) attached to the stone (11) comprises the step of pushing the fruit (10) by centrifugal force against the casing (2) and bringing said rotating element (3) into contact with the flesh (12) until the stone (11) manages to pass through said at least one outlet hole (21). The method further comprises the steps of:—obtaining a semi-processed product downstream of the casing (2) formed by the stone (11) and the flesh (12) that was separated from the stone (11);—making said semi-processed product pass through a sieve (4) that retains the stone (11) allowing the passage of the flesh (12).

LAVER FRIED SNACK IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
20210235718 · 2021-08-05 ·

The present invention relates to a laver fried snack in a three-dimensional shape and a preparation method therefor. Being easy to eat, the laver fried snack can be readily ingested by anyone irrespective of time and place and can be used as a side dish for meals or for alcoholic beverages. The laver fried snack can be variously configured according to tastes and needs of consumers, such as for persons reluctant to eat due to their dietary habits, or foreigners, the elderly, children, or patients and thus can be easily applied.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF MYCELIATED MIXED NUTRIENT PRODUCT FOR ENHANCED NUTRIENT SUPPLEMENTS

Disclosed is a method to prepare myceliated vegetable product which includes culturing fungi in an aqueous media which contains vegetables, fruits, and/or combinations thereof. Examples of vegetables used in the processes of the invention include carrot, spinach, kale, beet, broccoli, and combinations thereof. Fungi used include Lentinula edodes. The resultant myceliated nutrient food product has its flavor, or aroma modulated, such as by decreasing undesirable flavor of bitterness, beet, hay/herbal/grassy or decreasing undesirable aroma of beet or hay/herbal/grassy. Products made according to the invention have a nutritional profile comprising a measurable level of at least one of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, selenium, folate, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or Vitamin C, and a dose 10 g of the myceliated vegetable product can provide a significant amount of the daily requirement of certain vitamins and minerals. The product can be added to foods and/or beverages to improve the nutrient composition of foods without adding undesirable tastes or aromas.
