A frozen noodle product includes: a frozen noodle block, as a main food portion, obtained by freezing and hardening a cooked food; and a sauce portion obtained by freezing and hardening a sauce to be eaten together with the cooked food. The frozen noodle block has a sauce-portion arranging surface on which the sauce portion is arranged. An opening is formed in the sauce-portion arranging surface. The sauce portion is arranged on the frozen noodle block such that the lower end side, which is a part of the sauce portion, is inserted in the opening and the upper end side, which is the remaining part thereof, projects from the sauce-portion arranging surface side.

METHOD FOR REPLACING EGGS IN COMPOSITIONS

A method for replacing eggs and/or egg materials, particularly egg yolks, and/or for replacing a significant proportion of its fat and/or sugar content in a food composition, the method comprising the step of providing, in the food product, cellulose-containing particles that are derived from a herbaceous plant and that comprise: less than 30 wt % extractable glucose; and extractable xylose in an amount of at least 3% of the amount of extractable xylose in the plant. The replacement method involves providing, in the composition, cellulose-containing particles made from a herbaceous plant material by a process of: i) comminuting the plant material to form particles of the plant having a mean major dimension of less than 10 mm, preferably less than 100 μm, ii) then treating the plant particles from i) with a peroxide and water, iii) then heating the peroxide-treated plant particles from ii), and iv) then isolating the cellulose-containing particles.

Food Products Comprising Avian Stem Cells

A synthetic meat product for human and animal consumption and methods for producing such food product are disclosed. The synthetic food product comprises or essentially consists of a cell biomass of avian cells grown in vitro in a chemically-defined serum free culture medium under controlled conditions and do not contain any hazard contaminations.

Thermally inhibited starch and process for making

Improved thermally inhibited starch is disclosed and methods of making such starch are disclosed. In some embodiments a thermally inhibited starch has improved whiteness and flavor. In some embodiments a method for making a thermally inhibited starch includes providing adding a buffer and an acid to a starch to obtain a pH adjusted starch having an acidic pH and thermally inhibiting the pH adjusted starch. The technology further pertains to methods of making the thermally inhibited starch in batch, continuous, continuous-like process or combinations thereof.

COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING CINNAMALDEHYDE AND ZINC AND METHODS OF USING SUCH COMPOSITIONS

Compositions comprise an amount of cinnamaldehyde that is orally tolerable, thus avoiding an unpleasant mouth feeling, and also tolerable in the gastrointestinal tract. The cinnamaldehyde is supplemented by zinc, and the combination can be effective to increase at least one of energy expenditure, sympathetic nervous system activity, or fat oxidation. The composition comprising the combination of cinnamaldehyde and zinc can be used in a method to support weight management or promote weight loss, a method for preventing obesity or overweight, and a method for treating obesity or overweight. The composition can improve one or more of insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, cognitive performance, cognition, mood or memory. The composition can achieve a therapeutic effect selected from the group consisting of blood vessel dilation, reduced blood pressure, increased delivery of blood flow to tissues in the body, stimulation of protein synthesis, increased release of growth factors, enhanced immune function, and combinations thereof.
