A deck device and a method to access a pit ladder are described. An elevator pit deck device includes a platform configured to move between a stored position and an operational position; the platform installable in a channel; the stored position being a folded or retracted configuration; the platform, when in the operational position, extending between a channel opening and a wall of the channel. In some embodiments, the channel is an elevator hoistway, the channel opening connects the elevator hoistway and an elevator landing sill, the wall of the channel is proximate to a pit ladder, and the pit ladder is extendable towards a pit of the elevator.

The power transmitting device includes power transmitting units each having an inverter and two power transmitter coils. The first power receiving device includes first power receiving units each having a rectifier circuit and a power receiver coil that can be coupled with one of the two power transmitter coils. The second power receiving device includes second power receiving units each having a rectifier circuit and a power receiver coil that can be coupled with the other of the two power transmitter coils. The power transmitting device, or the first and second power receiving devices include switches to disconnect the inverter and the first load device as well as the inverter and the second load device.

A charger assembly 10 for charging an energy storage unit associated with an elevator is provided. The charger assembly includes a first charger unit 20 mechanically coupled to an elevator column 30. The first charger unit is adapted to tap voltage from a power source. The first charger unit interconnects a first block 40 and a second block 50. The first block includes at least two slots 60 adapted to interlock with at least two projections 70 provided on the second block. The charger assembly also includes a second charger unit 80 electrically coupled with the first charger unit and mounted on a guide bracket 90 associated with a cabin of the elevator. The second charger unit includes a plurality of pins 100 adapted to receive the voltage tapped by the first charger unit to charge the energy storage unit associated with the elevator.
