A method of calibrating a beacon for an elevator call system including: determining when a calibrator mobile device is located at a desired distance away from the beacon on a specific landing, the beacon being associated with one or more specific elevator systems at a specific elevator bank on the specific landing; detecting a wireless signal emitted by the beacon using a communication device of the calibrator mobile device when the calibrator mobile device is located at the desired distance; and establishing the desired distance as a selected range of the beacon for locating a passenger device for an elevator call received from the passenger device. The elevator call system is configured to assign future elevator calls received from the passenger mobile device detected to be within the selected range of the beacon to the one or more specific elevator systems at the specific elevator bank on the specific landing.

ELEVATOR SHAFT ELEMENT, ELEVATOR ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD

An elevator shaft element, an elevator arrangement and a method. The elevator shaft element comprises a frame module arranged for receiving an elevator car therein. The frame module is constructed from a transport and/or storage unit, comprising side walls, a bottom wall and a roof wall. The unit is arranged to be positioned vertically such that said side walls, bottom wall and upper wall of the unit define an inner space of the elevator shaft. Elevator car guides for guiding movement of the elevator car in the elevator shaft element are attached to said bottom wall and/or roof wall.

An integrated noise suppression apparatus for a pneumatic vacuum elevator is provided. The apparatus includes an equipment compartment which includes a first partition unit vertically surrounding one or more electric motors configured to suck air from elevator cylinders and release the air into atmosphere, a bottom plate comprising a channel, wherein an pneumatic flow control unit placed on top of the bottom plate configured to allow air from the atmosphere into the elevator cylinders, a second partition unit, a silencer unit which includes a first layer placed configured to initiate the circulation of air, a second layer having a first set of partition strips, a third layer having a second set of partition strips, a fourth layer, a fifth layer having a third set of partition strips. A plurality of layers is arranged one above the other to enable the air to pass between the atmosphere and the tubular cylinder.

TENSION MEMBER FOR AN ELEVATOR
20170362059 · 2017-12-21 ·

A tension member for an elevator system has an aspect ratio of greater than one, where aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of tension member width w to thickness t (w/t). The increase in aspect ratio results in a reduction in the maximum rope pressure and an increased flexibility as compared to conventional elevator ropes. As a result, smaller sheaves may be used with this type of tension member. In a particular embodiment, the tension member includes a plurality of individual load carrying cords encased within a common layer of coating. The coating layer separates the individual cords and defines an engagement surface for engaging a traction sheave.

The invention is a corner rack with one front face that has teeth. A corner rack is a linear gear interface that can be placed in corners, such that the teeth face out from the corner at an angle, rather than running parallel with the walls. The teeth of the corner rack have a profile that can engage with the profile of a silent chain. The combination of the corner rack and silent chain allows an attached motor to be distanced from the corner rack, so that a lifting device driven by the corner rack and silent chain can be placed in and utilized in corners. This leads to increased versatility and efficiency.
