REGENERATIVE POWER CAPTURE SYSTEM FOR ENDLESS TRACK ESCALATORS AND MOVING WALKWAYS
20180297819 · 2018-10-18 ·

Power is recovered from an escalator or a moving walkway as the step orbits an endless track on rollers. A generator is connected to a roller orbiting the track. A battery backup is provided. The power is used for emergency lighting on the step, and for data transmission. Advertising and messages are displayed on a dynamic video screen mounted on the step. The apparatus is mostly contained within the escalator step. Information is communicated wirelessly to a remotely located central control station and back to the step, so as to display information in real time and to update advertising while the escalator is in operation. The central control station also monitors performance parameters. The visual display can include LED lighting.

Escalator/moving walkway modular truss and method of assembling an escalator/moving walkway modular truss

An escalator/moving walkway modular truss is disclosed. Each module includes opposite sides including a lower profile and an upper profile, and vertical and diagonal beams placed between the lower profile and the upper profile. The lower profiles directly support an outer cladding of the escalator/moving walkway, and the upper profiles directly support balustrades and outer decking profiles of the escalator/moving walkway. Additionally, a method of assembling an escalator/moving walkway modular truss is disclosed, including the cold rolling of the profiles and the cold joining of vertical and diagonal beams between them.

A pair of displacement restricting members are fixed to a support member. When the support member is viewed from above, the displacement restricting members include reference end portions, respectively, which are positioned on a setting straight line set on an upper surface of the support member. The pair of displacement restricting members is fixed to the upper surface of the support member so that the reference end portions are directed in directions opposite to each other in a direction along the setting straight line. The end portion of the truss includes a pair of abutment surfaces facing the reference end portions, respectively. A gap is present in at least any one of a region between the reference end portion of one displacement restricting member and one abutment surface and a region between the reference end portion of the other displacement restricting member and the other abutment surface.
