BALCONY HOIST
20240270541 · 2024-08-15 ·

A hoist apparatus for lifting a load onto a balcony includes a base and a boom arm which is extendable away from the base. A pulley is coupled to the boom arm adjacent to a distal end of the boom arm relative to the base. A winch is provided for hoisting a load via a cord mounted on the pulley. The apparatus is configured so that, after lifting the load, the winch can wind the cord to retract the boom arm, moving the load toward a destination balcony. The base is mountable to a second balcony overhanging the destination balcony.

System and method for automated pipe handling

A pipe handling apparatus and method for using the pipe handling apparatus is described. The pipe handling apparatus can be used by putting a boom of the pipe handling apparatus in a nesting position. The boom of the pipe handling apparatus is pivotally mounted to a base and at least one arm. In the nesting position, a pivot point between the at least one arms and the boom is moved within an elongated slot of the boom and the length of the at least one arm is simultaneously adjusted.

HEIGHT ACTUATED SELF-ACTIVATING SAFETY GATE

Embodiments described herein relate to a self-extending/retracting gate for a platform. In one embodiment, safety gate includes a housing that extends laterally from a back support attached to the platform. The gate includes a sliding member that is operable to retract at least partially into the housing toward the back support to substantially conceal the sliding member within the housing and provide an opening beyond the housing for users to access the platform and to extend from an opening of the housing away from the back support to block access to the platform while the housing supports the sliding member. The gate includes a gate movement assembly within the housing between a rear portion of the sliding member and the back support. The gate movement assembly is operable to cause the sliding member to extend from the housing and retract into the housing according to a height of the platform.

Chassis-stabilizing system
10124773 · 2018-11-13 · ·

A chassis-stabilization system is shown and described that promotes chassis stability over chassis leveling. The chassis-stabilization system equalizes, or more equalizes, the loads on the chassis. This is because uneven loads can cause the chassis (and by extension the entire utility vehicle) to overturn. The chassis-stabilizing system may include a first pressure transducer, a second pressure transducer, a level sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a first initial reading from the first pressure transducer and a second initial reading from the second pressure transducer; determine an initial pressure profile based at least in part on the first initial reading and the second initial reading; compare the initial pressure profile to a known level profile; and instruct the first actuator to actuate so as to adjust the initial pressure profile to proportionally nearer to the known level profile.

Craneless elevatable MGS vessel and swivel joint U-tube mud line and method of installation
10094184 · 2018-10-09 ·

A craneless elevatable MGS vessel and U-tube assembly can be delivered on a winch truck to a drilling site and assembled in a far shorter time and without the need of having a crane and crane operator attend to the movement and placement of the MGS vessel and attached U-tube mud lines to a mud handling system in a drilling rig. The MGS vessel of the present application can be a standard type of MGS vessel well known in the industry. By fabricating this MGS vessel with attached and moveable U-tube connectors for the mud line, the system can be moved and assembled at the drill site without crane intervention. Moreover, the ability to raise the MGS vessel, after placement in its vertical position, permits ready attachment to multiple diverse drilling rig configurations.
