A level indication system includes a sensor system and a control system. The sensor system is positioned to acquire stability data regarding a stability characteristic of a vehicle at a current location. The stability characteristic includes at least one of a slope, a grade, or a jackknife angle. The control system is configured to determine whether the stability characteristic is within an operational range or a nonoperational range, provide an indication that the vehicle is reconfigurable at the current location into a state whereby the vehicle is operable at the current location in response to determining that the stability characteristic is within the operational range or an indication that the vehicle is not operable at the current location in response to determining that the stability characteristic is within the nonoperational range, and facilitate engaging a stabilization system of the vehicle in response to the stability characteristic being within the operational range.

Pressure based load sensing system

A load sensing system measures lift cylinder pressure and platform height to estimate platform load. The system functions to prevent overload and is designed to comply with regulatory requirements. The system provides the advantages of a force-based approach using simple, lower cost pressure-based measurement components.

In one embodiment of the heavy equipment hazard warning apparatus, the location of the heavy equipment is monitored by the heavy equipment warning apparatus and analyzed with reference to a hazard safety site plan of the site that identifies a hazard such as existing utilities, for example. An alert notification is initialized in response to the heavy equipment encroaching on a hazard geofence around the hazard. A shutdown notification is initialized in response to the heavy equipment being proximate to the hazard.

The gate processing unit is adapted for defining a first gate warning zone and for determining whether a vehicle module is present within the first gate warning zone. The vehicle module includes a vehicle antenna unit and a vehicle processing unit adapted for defining at least one first vehicle warning zone for determining whether the gate module is present within the vehicle warning zone. A lock safety system, two methods for operating the gate safety system and the lock safety system, and two computer programs are also provided.

The lift motor is powered by the battery, and the linear actuator is coupled to the retractable lift so that rotation of the rotor moves the retractable lift between the extended position and the retracted position. The lift vehicle further includes an electromagnetic brake coupled to a first side of the lift motor.

The control unit is configured to define a target state of the industrial truck, to receive data from the detection unit to determine an actual state of the industrial truck based on the detected operating parameters of the industrial truck, to calculate the effects of possible adjustments of the relative position of the load wheel with respect to the vehicle body on the actual state of the industrial truck, and to instruct the at least one actuator to adjust the relative position of the load wheel with respect to the vehicle body to approximate the actual state of the industrial truck to the target state.

Safety device for mobile work platforms

A land vehicle assembly is provided with a platform for an operator workspace. A control panel is supported upon the platform in electrical communication with the land vehicle. A caution switch is supported upon the platform in electrical communication with the control panel to provide a signal to the control panel indicative of a caution event. A cable is connected to the caution switch to extend across the control panel. The cable is spaced apart from the control panel so that a predetermined force upon the flexible member actuates the caution switch without significantly obstructing the control panel. A manual force upon the flexible member expands the operator workspace. The control panel is programmed to control a mobile operation of the land vehicle, and discontinue the mobile operation of the land vehicle in response to receipt of the caution event signal.

A lift device includes a scissor assembly coupling a base to a platform. The scissor assembly includes a first scissor layer including a first inner arm configured to rotate relative to a first outer arm about a middle axis. The first scissor layer has an end axis center point defined based on the positions of the end axes about which the first inner arm and the first outer arm rotate. The first middle axis is offset from the first end axis center point. The scissor assembly further includes a second scissor layer coupled to the first scissor layer and extending between the first scissor layer and the platform. The second scissor layer includes a second inner arm pivotally coupled to a second outer arm.
