The provided nutritional formulas may be useful in providing nutrition and/or promoting postnatal development of a subject (e.g., promoting postnatal development of an infant's gastrointestinal tract, promoting proper gastrointestinal function, nutrient absorption, proper immune system development, etc.). Also provided are powder forms, reconstituted formulas, kits, methods, and uses that include or involve a nutritional formula described herein.
NUTRACEUTICAL OR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING IRON PYROPHOSPHATE FOR TREATING AND/OR PREVENTING IRON DEFICIENCY CONDITIONS OR DISEASES
Provided herein is a composition of substances preferably obtained from natural sources, which is effective in preventing and/or treating iron deficiency conditions or diseases. The composition includes iron pyrophosphate, phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine and starch, preferably acetylated pregelatinised starch. The formulation gives the composition gastro-resistance properties and high bioavailability of the active ingredient iron pyrophosphate. The composition is prepared in the form of a solid, semi-solid or liquid pharmaceutical dosage, preferably for oral administration.
PREPARATION METHOD OF LOW-GLYCEMIC INDEX (GI) RICE
A preparation method of a low-glycemic index (GI) rice includes: S1. washing indica rice grains to remove impurities, soaking the indica rice grains, and subjecting the indica rice grains to an ultrasonic treatment in excess water; S2. filtering out the indica rice grains, and cooking the indica rice grains for 20 min to 40 min; S3. subjecting indica rice grains obtained after the cooking to an ultra-high pressure treatment at 300 MPa to 600 MPa for 30 min to 35 min in a high-pressure container filled with water; S4. air-cooling indica rice grains obtained after the ultra-high pressure treatment, and refrigerating the indica rice grains; S5. after the refrigerating is completed, oven-drying the indica rice grains at 30° C. to 35° C. until a moisture content is less than 16%; and S6. shelling resulting indica rice grains to obtain the desired low-GI rice.
PROCESSES FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF PERCHLORATE DEPLETED MILK
The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a perchlorate depleted milk based on nanofiltration of dairy raw materials. The invention further relates to methods for the preparation of an infant formula base using said perchlorate depleted milk. The invention also envisages a perchlorate depleted retentate fraction used to produce a perchlorate depleted milk and infant formula, an assortment comprising said formula and a system for the manufacture of an infant formula comprising a nanofiltration module.
Composition and method for producing the same
A degradation product produced by degrading a composition containing a hyaluronic acid and a protein with a protease has a pain relieving effect, a joint function ameliorating effect, a cholesterol-lowering effect, a hypoglycemic effect and a diastolic blood pressure-lowering effect.
Bifidobacterium bacteria and composition including novel bifidobacterium bacteria
Provide are beneficial bacteria that can be beneficially applied across a wide range of age groups and a composition containing the same. Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum NITE BP-02568 and/or Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum NITE BP-02569; and Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum, having utilization ability for 2′-fucosyllactose are also provided. More preferably, bacteria having utilization ability for carbohydrates arabinoxylan, arabinan, and pectic galactan; and a composition containing the bacteria are also provided. More preferably, a composition containing 2′-fucosyllactose are also provided. More preferably, a composition containing at least one carbohydrate selected from the group consisting of arabinoxylan, arabinan, pectic galactan, and oligosaccharides derived therefrom or containing at least a carbohydrate derived from a gramineous plant or a carbohydrate derived from a solanaceous plant are also provided.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING MUSCULOSKELETAL DISEASES, TREATING INFLAMMATION, AND MANAGING SYMPTOMS OF MENOPAUSE
Described herein are methods and compositions for using microbial agents (probiotics) and agents that promote growth of certain microbes (prebiotics) for management (including prevention and treatment) of musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoporosis, osteopenia, Paget's disease, stunting, osteoarthritis, osteomyelitis, and delayed or non-union fractures. Also described herein are methods and compositions for using probiotics and prebiotics for management of inflammation, and symptoms of menopause.
RADIATION SENSITIVITY ENHANCING COMOPOSITION CONTAINING ARIPIPRAZOLE AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
The present invention relates to a composition for enhancing radiation sensitivity comprising aripiprazole as an active ingredient, and more specifically, to a composition for enhancing radiation sensitivity capable of treating cancer by acting as a radiation sensitizer when aripiprazole is combined with radiation. By administering an effective amount of aripiprazole according to the present invention in combination with radiation irradiation, it has excellent radiation sensitivity enhancing effects such as reducing cancer cell viability and inducing cancer cell death, so it can be usefully used as a radiation sensitivity enhancer.
METHOD FOR PREPARING GALACTO-OLIGOSACHARIDES FROM LACTULOSE
Process for the preparation of a galacto-oligosaccharide preparation, which process comprises the step of contacting a lactulose-containing feed with a beta-galactosidase derived from Papiliotrema terrestris. The resulting galacto-oligosaccharide is acceptable to subjects suffering from GOS-related allergy and subjects having lactose intolerance.
