A fuel island redundant monitoring system having sensors of varying purpose to transmit data signals to dual remote monitoring stations. One monitoring site is a live monitoring station manned by personnel. The other monitoring station is a data receiving station utilizing unmanned machines, e.g., computers. The unmanned data station is capable of transmitting information to the manned monitoring station, to local fuel island managers and/or to local emergency responders, and/or to control equipment at the fuel island. The manned monitoring station is capable of transmitting commands or inquiries to the unmanned data station and/or to control equipment at the fuel island, and/or to local fuel island managers and/or to local emergency responders. Sensors may be dedicated to either the unmanned data station or the manned live monitoring station, or may send data to both stations.

Measurement sensors of the refrigeration device are configured to generate first measurement signals that are indicative a gesture of a hand in the dispenser opening. A control unit of the refrigeration device is configured to ascertain a requested fill height based upon the first measurement signals. The control unit is further configured to generate signals that cause the conveyor to convey the substance from the reservoir to a container placed under the dispenser outlet and cease conveying the substance upon the container attaining the requested fill level.

A mobile liquid transferring system comprising a first articulating fluid conduit configured to couple to a first tank, a pump comprising a pump inlet in fluid communication with the first articulating fluid conduit, a flow meter comprising a first pickoff for a first liquid of a first viscosity and a second pickoff for a second liquid of a second viscosity, a meter register configured to control flow of the first liquid and the second liquid in accordance with one or more loading parameters and one or more liquid parameters, a flow control valve in fluid communication with the flow meter and configured to alter flow of at least one of the first liquid and the second liquid in response to a communication from the load rack controller, and a second articulating fluid conduit in fluid communication with the flow control valve and configured to couple to a second tank.

The liquid accumulator comprises a chamber containing the liquid and a vapor column and a power source configured to input energy to the chamber to generate vapor from the liquid to form the vapor column. The vapor column constitutes a gas spring to reduce pulsations of the liquid flow in the pipe. The spring rate of the gas spring can be adjusted by changing the input energy level from the power source to the chamber.
