A hood (100) for a head of a horse includes: a main part intended to be placed on the head, two ears (104a, 104b) integral with the main part and in each of which is housed one of the ears of the horse, an auditory device (300) including a reception module (302) including elements for receiving signals, a transformation module (304) including elements for transforming the signals received into sounds audible to the horse, and a pair of loudspeakers (306) connected to the transformation module (304), each of the loudspeakers (306) being housed and fixed inside an ear (104a, 104b) of the hood (100).

A light source supported by one of the halter pieces is responsive to electrical power received from the portable electric power source for outputting light. A side-glow optical fiber supported by one of the halter pieces is responsive to the light output by the light source for outputting light transverse to a side wall of the optical fiber. The optical fiber can be sandwiched between the nose band and a protective cover that can include fluorescent material.

A lighted horse halter includes a number of halter pieces and a portable electric power source is supported by one of the halter pieces. A light source supported by one of the halter pieces is responsive to electrical power received from the portable electric power source for outputting light. A side-glow optical fiber supported by one of the halter pieces is responsive to the light output by the light source for outputting light transverse to a side wall of the optical fiber. The optical fiber can be sandwiched between the nose band and a protective cover that can include fluorescent material.

An equine harness includes a nose-piece harness strap configured to at least partially surround a nose of a horse, and a nose-piece attachment coupled to an inner surface of the nose-piece harness strap to engage with the nose of the horse. The nose-piece attachment includes a first side segment at a first end of the nose-piece attachment, a second side segment at an opposite, second end of the nose-piece attachment, and a center segment coupled between the first side segment and the second side segment.

The present invention is a modified martingale with a flexible central loop and rein rings that slide on the flexible central loop. The flexible central loop is attached in front of the animal's chest to a standard martingale chest strap and a leather loop around the neck, both adjustable to the horse's size and conformation. Standard reins run through the sliding rein rings, which can change their position on the central loop depending upon which way the rider pulls the reins. The flexible central loop can deform to the pull pressure of the reins, which will mitigate the pressure applied to horse's head, to prevent sudden and forceful pressure that could potentially startle or harm the horse.
