A system for horseback riding comprising an inverse stirrup which allows a horseback rider to use the top of the rider's foot to resist upward or transverse forces so as to maintain the rider's position on the horse. The inverse stirrup is attached to the horse by a circumferential or semi-circumferential strap passing beneath the horse such as the girth strap, or directly to the saddle, such that the system resists upward displacement of the inverse stirrup.

Saddle rigging limiting stirrup strap movement, and methods
Disclosed is a rigging for a saddle, a saddle containing this rigging and a method of making the rigging wherein the rigging has a slot in the rigging material, the slot being large enough for at least a part of a stirrup leather or stirrup strap loop to pass through the slot, the rigging slot having a width for limiting the movement forward and/or rearward of a stirrup that is supported by the stirrup strap loop, the slot in the rigging located spaced downward on the saddle from a slot in a saddle tree of the saddle that supports the stirrup leather or stirrup strap loop.
Mounting assist device and method
A foldable stirrup for mounting animals such as horses has a support arm for engagement with a stirrup leather and a base pivotaly coupled to the support arm for supporting a rider's foot while mounting when the stirrup is in an open configuration. The base and the support arm are inwardly foldable together to a folded configuration. A mounting assist strap configured to engage the stirrup and provide a point of securement on the animal to be mounted is provided. Methods of mounting an animal using the foldable stirrup and mounting assist strap are provided.
A STIRRUP
A horse stirrup is provided including a support, for supporting an underside of footwear of a rider; and a positioner, for positioning the footwear of the rider relative to the support. Advantageously, the positioner assists the rider to ride with the ball of their foot (or toes) correctly positioned on the stirrup and in a balanced riding position.

Adjustable stirrup
A stirrup arranged to be adjusted to an individual rider of a horse is provided. The stirrup includes a stirrup support bracket and a foot tread. The adjustable stirrup is provided with a stirrup angle adjustment arrangement, arranged to adjust the stirrup in one or more of an x-, y- or z-axis direction. A stirrup leather mounting part is arranged to receive the lower end sling of a stirrup leather.
Stirrup safety retainer
A stirrup safety retainer for use with a stirrup on a saddle for a horse is disclosed. The safety stirrup retainer can include a first strap having a first end and a second end. A first connector can attach to the first end of the first strap and a second connector can attach to the second end of the first strap, such that when the first and second connectors are brought together, they are configured to releasably joining the first and second end of the first strap. The stirrup safety retainer can further include a second strap connected to the first strap. The stirrup safety retainer can further include a third strap connected to the first strap. The first and second connectors can comprise, respectively, male and female portions of a safety breakaway buckle.
