MEMS SYSTEM
A MEMS system includes a first permanent-magnetic microstructure and a second permanent-magnetic microstructure. The first permanent-magnetic microstructure is movable along a first direction. The second permanent-magnetic microstructure is arranged to be spaced apart from the first permanent-magnetic microstructure, wherein, by moving the first permanent-magnetic microstructure along the first direction, the second permanent-magnetic microstructure or one or more elements of the second permanent-magnetic microstructure are either moved or actuated in a second direction or undergo rotation.

A molecular machine comprising a movement part (2) including a first molecular element (4), a second molecular element (5), and a linking element (6) for constraining a relative movement of the first molecular element (4) and the second molecular element (5), and a control part configured to generate an electrical field around the movement part (2), wherein the first molecular element (4) is fixed relative to the control part, wherein the second molecular element (5) is movable relative to the first molecular element (4) in at least one degree of freedom, and wherein the second molecular element (5) is electrically charged such that the second molecular element (5) aligns to said electrical field.
BIDIRECTIONAL MEMS DRIVING ARRANGEMENTS WITH A FORCE ABSORBING SYSTEM
A micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) driving arrangement for an electronic device, the micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) driving arrangement including a driven wheel; a driving actuation assembly for causing rotation of the driven wheel; an indicator assembly including an indicator; and a force absorbing assembly coupled intermediate the indicator assembly and the driven wheel; whereby a force acting upon the indicator assembly is absorbed by the force absorbing assembly so as to inhibit rotation of the driven wheel relative to the driving actuation assembly.

Mechanical connection for a MEMS and NEMS device for measuring a variation in pressure, and device comprising such a mechanical connection
A mechanical connection is provided for a microelectromechanical and/or nanoelectromechanical device for measuring a variation in pressure. The device includes a fixed component extending in a main plane, a mobile component to move or deform in an out-of-plane direction under effect of a variation in pressure, and a detector of movement or deformation having at least one mobile element. The mechanical connection includes: a lever arm; a first connection connecting the mobile component to a first end of the lever arm, the first connection transmitting out-of-plane movement of the mobile component to the first end of the lever arm while allowing out-of-plane rotation of the lever arm about a direction of rotation; a second connection connected to the second end of the lever arm to allow mainly an out-of-plane rotation of the lever arm about an axis of rotation extending in the direction of rotation; a third connection connecting the lever arm to the detector at a given distance from the axis of rotation in the out-of-plane direction, the third connection being designed to convert the rotation of the lever arm about the axis of rotation into a translation in the plane of the at least one mobile element in a direction of translation.
Light ranging device having an electronically scanned emitter array
Embodiments describe a solid state electronic scanning LIDAR system that includes a scanning focal plane transmitting element and a scanning focal plane receiving element whose operations are synchronized so that the firing sequence of an emitter array in the transmitting element corresponds to a capturing sequence of a photosensor array in the receiving element. During operation, the emitter array can sequentially fire one or more light emitters into a scene and the reflected light can be received by a corresponding set of one or more photosensors through an aperture layer positioned in front of the photosensors. Each light emitter can correspond with an aperture in the aperture layer, and each aperture can correspond to a photosensor in the receiving element such that each light emitter corresponds with a specific photosensor in the receiving element.

Microfluidics-based nanobiosensors and devices
Microfluidic devices and nanobiosensors comprising a magnetic nanoparticle attached to a reporter molecule via a release unit for microfluidic-based detection of a target analyte in a biological sample. The nanobiosensors can be magnetically manipulated or guided through the microfluidics channels for incubation with the biological sample, concentration of the nanobiosensors, and detection of target analytes, without having to pump the entire initial sample through a microfluidic channel of the microfluidic device. The magnetic nanoparticles are separated from the reporter molecules before detection and can be re-used.
