Nanofluidic device with silicon nitride membrane
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide nanopore devices, such as nanopore sensors and/or other nanofluidic devices. In one or more embodiments, a nanopore device contains a substrate, an optional lower protective oxide layer disposed on the substrate, a membrane disposed on the lower protective oxide layer, and an optional upper protective oxide layer disposed on the membrane. The membrane has a pore and contains silicon nitride. The silicon nitride has a nitrogen to silicon ratio of about 0.98 to about 1.02 and the membrane has an intrinsic stress value of about −1,000 MPa to about 1,000 MPa. The nanopore device also contains a channel extending through at least the substrate, the lower protective oxide layer, the membrane, the upper protective oxide layer, and the upper protective silicon nitride layer.
METHOD
The invention relates to a novel method of producing hetero-oligomeric pores. The invention also relates to hetero-oligomeric pores produced using the method and polynucleotide characterisation using the hetero-oligomeric pores.
Aligned arrays of nanorods, and methods of making and using them
Described are methods for the assembly of monolayer, bilayer, or multi-layer structures composed of homogenous rod-like molecules and particles. Included are methods for tuning physical properties of the mono- or multi-layered structures by changing ionic conditions and the size or concentration of polymer used for self-assembly.
NANOPORE DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A 3D nanopore device for characterizing biopolymer molecules includes a first selecting layer having a first axis of selection. The device also includes a second selecting layer disposed adjacent the first selecting layer and having a second axis of selection orthogonal to the first axis of selection. The device further includes an third electrode layer disposed adjacent the second selecting layer, such that the first selecting layer, the second selecting layer, and the third electrode layer form a stack of layers along a Z axis and define a plurality of nanopore pillars.
Additive manufacturing methods for modification and improvement of the surfaces of micro-scale geometric features
The present disclosure addresses methods to refine the geometry of micro features manufactured in various substrates. Such refinement includes improvement in edge roughness and roughness of aperture channel walls. The methods include deposition of material onto feature edges and surfaces as well as placement of micro fabricated inserts into coarse features. Foremost among the candidate technologies that can be employed for these purposes are two photon polymerization-based 3D nano printing and atomic force microscope nanopipette-based electroplating.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF QUANTUM PARTICLES
Methods are disclosed for producing product particles having a uniform size using a microwave plasma process. More particularly, methods of the present technology are used to manufacture product particles having a core at least partially surrounded by a shell. The core and shell of the product particles are chemically distinct. Methods of the present technology occur within a plasma chamber of a microwave plasma reactor and a microwave formed plasma is utilized to vaporize core precursor material.
Method of interconnecting nanowires, nanowire network and transparent conductive electrode
According to embodiments of the present invention, a method of interconnecting nanowires is provided. The method includes providing a plurality of nanowires, providing a plurality of nanoparticles, and fusing the plurality of nanoparticles to the plurality of nanowires to interconnect the plurality of nanowires to each other via the plurality of nanoparticles. According to further embodiments of the present invention, a nanowire network and a transparent conductive electrode are also provided.
Metal-connected particle articles
Apparatus and methods for making metal-connected particle articles. A metal containing fluid is selectively applied to a layer of particles. The metal in the fluid is used to form metal connections between particles. The metal connections are formed at temperatures below the sintering temperature of the particles in the layer of particles.
