Edible product comprising reconstituted plant material
The present invention relates to an edible product, which comprises a fibrous plant product and a plant extract applied thereto. Further, the invention relates to a corresponding method for producing said edible product and its use in at least one of food, food supplement, medicinal, cosmetic, well-being, nutraceutical or phytotherapeutical applications. The plants used may be all plants comprising one or more substances of interest for an edible product.
Masticable ingestible product and communication system therefor
An apparatus includes a food product, at least one ingestible device associated with the food product to communicate information and at least one coating material surrounding the at least one ingestible device is disclosed. The ingestible device is associated with an ingestible medication to be ingested in conjunction with the food product. The coating is configured to release the at least one ingestible device upon the occurrence of an event.
SEASONING DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR FOOD PROCESS LINE
Apparatus and methods of seasoning food product in a mechanized food product line advantageously seasons the food product in cartons or containers therefor so that the number of days or so of shipment from the process plant to destinations like grocery stores does double duty as time for the seasoning to be absorbed. Food product can be loaded into containers, which are placed on a conveyor line and passed under a seasoning dispenser which thereby applies a top coat. The containers are conveyed to shrink wrap stations or like packaging closure processes, then to refrigerated or freezer storage and onward by refrigerated or freezer motor vehicles. The dispensing apparatus has metering provisions for application of a measured amount and a controller for switching the dispenser ON as a container passes underneath and then OFF as the container goes past.
Method and apparatus for providing sushi
A method of providing sushi for consumption. The method includes preparing the sushi; placing the sushi in a humidified refrigerated storage unit at an ambient humidity level over 65% and under 99% and at a temperature between about 0° C. and about 7° C.; preserving for a period under fifteen hours the sushi in the humidified refrigerated storage unit to reduce loss of moisture of the sushi rice of the sushi during the preservation period; and removing the sushi from the humidified refrigerated storage unit prior to being served.
INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE TREATMENT OF PRODUCE
Described herein are industrial application systems for treating (e.g., forming protective coatings on) produce, agricultural products, or other items. An exemplary application system can include a bed comprising a plurality of rollers, one or more sprayers over a first portion of the bed, one or more blowers over a second portion of the bed, a mixing system configured to prepare a mixture comprising a coating agent in a solvent, and a liquid delivery system connected inline between the mixing system and the one or more sprayers. Items placed on the bed can have the mixture applied to their surfaces via the one or more sprayers, after which the one or more blowers can at least partially remove the solvent from the surfaces of the perishable items, thereby causing the protective coatings to be formed over the perishable items.
Film-forming compositions for the film-coating of solid forms
The invention relates to a film-forming composition comprising a fluidised hydroxypropyl starch and sorbitol, and to a film-coating method using said composition. The invention further relates to film-coated solid forms comprising a fluidised hydroxypropyl starch and sorbitol in the coating.
