Automated High-Throughput Seed Sampler And Methods Of Sampling, Testing And Bulking Seeds
An automated method for operating an automated seed sampling system having a seed loading station, a seed transport subsystem, and a seed sampling station generally includes sensing whether individual seeds are successfully isolated from a bulk of seeds at the seed loading station, and sensing whether the isolated seeds are properly positioned by the seed transport subsystem adjacent the seed sampling station in preparation for removing tissue from the isolated seeds. In some aspects, the method further includes analyzing the tissue removed from the seeds for presence or absence of at least one characteristic, and selecting seeds based on presence or absence of the at least one characteristic.

Seed index system for treating agricultural seeds
Seed index system and methods for treating agricultural seeds with one or more seed care products employing a size-adjusted application rate based on the size of the seeds. Such size-adjusted application rates can be determined by a supplier of seed care products and communicated to an applicator who applies the seed care product to a quantity of seeds. Such size-adjusted application rates can be in the form of a chart, an equation, or a calculator.

Method for seed priming
Disclosed is a method of priming dry seeds, wherein said seeds firstly wetted in a manner such that the seed absorbs at least 75 wt. % of the amount of water required by the seed for entering phase II of water uptake. Subsequently, the moisture content of the seed is reduced by at least 1 percentage unit, and in manner such that the resulting moisture content of the seed still is at least 25%. At last is the seed incubated in such a manner that: the weight of the seed during the incubation remains at least 80%, such as at least 90% or at least 95%, of the weight of the seed before the incubation; and the moisture content (dry weight based) of the seed during the incubation remains at least 25% during at least 25% of incubation time.
