Aspects of the present invention harnesses and directs the power of water flowing through the system to extract oxygen present in air, rather than relying on the injection of gas or using other mechanical means. The water oxygenator is formed as an elongate cylindrical tube having a water inlet at a first end, a water outlet at a second end, and an air inlet proximal to the first end. The elongate cylindrical tube has an outer sidewall defining a mixing chamber within an interior cavity of the water oxygenator. The mixing chamber includes a plurality of baffles that are disposed in a spaced apart relation along a longitudinal length of the interior cavity.

A system of directional bubble walls includes a plurality of bubble walls. Each bubble wall may have a shape elongated in one linear direction and have multiple air outlets directed in a perpendicular direction to the elongated direction. The air generated out of air outlets forms a blockade that either blocks particulates in water from moving through it or pushes the particulates away from it. The bubble walls may be placed in parallel to each other and separated from each other by a distance. An air source connected to the bubble walls may sequentially turn on and off the bubble walls such that the water particulates may be removed and pushed in a desired direction. The bubble walls may also be turned on simultaneously, and other modes of operation may be adapted to effectively remove and move water particulates.

The aerator comprises a floating head having a concave lower surface, a main chamber or barrel that defines the oxygen transfer chamber, and an air diffuser that extends coaxially through the float head and barrel interconnects the float head to the barrel such that there is a discharge slot defined between the lower surface of the float head and the barrel. A ballast ring floats the aerator at the desire level such that a flow of air bubbles and oxygenated water or wastewater are discharged at a subsurface level.
