Feedthrough assembly with feature for controlling component position
In some examples, a feedthrough assembly for a medical device may include a ferrule. The ferrule defines an aperture extending through the ferrule from an outer end surface defined by the ferrule to an end inner end surface defined by the ferrule. The aperture includes a first portion having a first diameter and a second portion having a second diameter less than the first diameter. The aperture defines a longitudinal axis extending therethrough and the ferrule defines a ledge between the first and second portions of the aperture that extends radially inward toward the longitudinal axis. The feedthrough assembly further may include a conductive pin within the aperture and an insulating member surrounding at least a portion of the pin. The insulating member may electrically insulate the conductive pin from the ferrule, and the ledge and a surface of the insulating member adjacent the ledge may define a space therebetween.
Tip resistant art displays
Systems and methods for displaying art in a manner which resists tipping from external forces while preserving artistic impression are disclosed. An art piece includes an inner core extending from a bottom of a display portion and an outer stabilizing core formed about the inner core. A base includes a recess located within a housing. The recess is configured to snugly receive the stabilizing core. A number of illumination devices are located within the recess and electrically connected to a power supply for illuminating the art piece. In some embodiments, holes may be formed in the base for fastening the base to a surface.
Fabricating method for quartz vial
In a fabricating method for a quartz vial having a body part for containing a substance, a bottom part closing a lower end of the body part, a cylindrical neck part disposed at an upper end of the body part, a cylindrical mouth part disposed above the neck part and having an outer diameter larger than that of the neck part, and a tapered portion connecting the mouth part and the neck part to each other, outer peripheral surfaces of the tapered portion and the neck part are formed by shaving, and the body part that is separately fabricated is welded to the neck part. Thus, quartz vials having a predetermined shape can be mass-fabricated.
Fire-rated glass unit
An article of fire rated glass and method of producing the same prepared by selecting a sheet of clear float annealed glass of at least 19 millimeters in thickness and providing the edge of the sheet substantially free of imperfections. The glass sheet is then specially tempered at a temperature of at least 575 degrees Celsius for a period of at least 750 seconds, followed by fluid quenching.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN OPTICAL ELEMENT FROM GLASS
The present disclosure provides an improved production method for optical elements. In this case, it is desirable to achieve high contour accuracy and/or surface quality for optical elements or lenses or headlight lens. In addition, it is desirable to reduce the costs of a production process for objective lenses and/or headlights, microprojectors or vehicle headlights.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HEADLIGHT LENS FOR A VEHICLE HEADLIGHT
The present disclosure provides a suitable method for producing a headlight lens for a vehicle headlight, for example for a motor-vehicle headlight, wherein the headlight lens comprises an integral body made of glass, wherein the integral body comprises at least one light tunnel and one light-passage section having at least one optically active light exit surface, wherein the light tunnel comprises at least one light entry surface and, with a bend, transitions into the light-passage section in order to image the bend as a bright-dark-boundary by means of light directed into the light entry surface.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS PLATE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC-DISK GLASS SUBSTRATE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC DISK
Chamfering processing for chamfering an edge face of a disk-shaped glass plate includes a step of disposing the glass plate such that a portion of the glass plate is disposed in a heating space for heating the glass plate and the remaining portion is disposed outside the heating space; and a step of softening a portion of the edge face of the glass plate by irradiating a circumferential portion of the edge face with a laser beam outside the heating space while rotating the glass plate in one direction around the center of the glass plate, and heating the softened portion of the edge face that has reached the heating space through the rotation.
ENCLOSURES FOR PROVIDING A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT DURING THE PRODUCTION OF GLASS ARTICLES
An enclosure for providing a controlled environment includes a central plane extending through a top end of the enclosure and a bottom end of the enclosure and bisecting the enclosure along a width of the enclosure, an inlet at the bottom end of the enclosure having an inlet width, W.sub.inlet, an enclosure wall extending from the inlet to the top end of the enclosure, an entry port at the top end of the enclosure, and an outlet between the entry port and the chamber region of the enclosure wall. The enclosure wall comprises a chamber region and a transition region between the inlet and the chamber region. The width of the chamber region, W.sub.chamber, is substantially constant through the chamber region. The width of the enclosure in the transition region decreases from W.sub.chamber to W.sub.inlet, and a ratio of W.sub.inlet to W.sub.chamber is from 1:2 to 1:5.
Method for manufacturing infrared-transmissible lens, infrared-transmissible lens, and infrared camera
Provided is a method for manufacturing an infrared-transmissive lens having an excellent surface quality. A method for manufacturing an infrared-transmissive lens includes firing a preform of a chalcogenide glass in an inert gas atmosphere to obtain a fired body and then subjecting the fired body to hot press molding.
