Laser welding transparent glass sheets using low melting glass or thin absorbing films
A method of sealing a workpiece comprising forming an inorganic film over a surface of a first substrate, arranging a workpiece to be protected between the first substrate and a second substrate wherein the inorganic film is in contact with the second substrate; and sealing the workpiece between the first and second substrates as a function of the composition of impurities in the first or second substrates and as a function of the composition of the inorganic film by locally heating the inorganic film with a predetermined laser radiation wavelength. The inorganic film, the first substrate, or the second substrate can be transmissive at approximately 420 nm to approximately 750 nm.
Vitreous frit
A vitreous frit comprising the following by weight percentage ranges: TABLE-US-00001 SiO.sub.2 40-60 Al.sub.2O.sub.3 5-20 Na.sub.2O 10-35 Li.sub.2O 0-6 CaO 0-10 SrO 0-5 BaO 0-5 CeO.sub.2 0-5 TiO.sub.2 0-9.
INSULATOR-COATED SOFT MAGNETIC POWDER, POWDER MAGNETIC CORE, MAGNETIC ELEMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND VEHICLE
An insulator-coated soft magnetic powder includes a plurality of particles each including a core which contains a soft magnetic material, and an insulating layer which is provided on the surface of the core and contains a glass material including Bi.sub.2O.sub.3 as a main component. The content of an alkali metal in the insulating layer is 5 mol % or less. The glass material further contains at least one of ZnO and B.sub.2O.sub.3. The content of Bi.sub.2O.sub.3 in the glass material is 40 mol % or more and 80 mol % or less.
SUBSTRATE FOR FLEXIBLE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a substrate for flexible device. The substrate has a nickel-plated metal sheet having a nickel-plating layer formed on at least one surface of a metal sheet or a nickel-based sheet, and a glass layer of an electrically-insulating layered bismuth-based glass on a surface of the nickel-plating layer or the nickel-based sheet. An oxide layer having a roughened surface is formed on the surface of the nickel-plating layer or the surface of the nickel-based sheet, and the bismuth-based glass contains 70 to 84% by weight of Bi.sub.2O.sub.3, 10 to 12% by weight of ZnO, and 6 to 12% by weight of B.sub.2O.sub.3. This substrate for flexible device is excellent in moisture barrier properties and adhesion of the glass layer, and also in a surface smoothness since occurrence of seeding and cissing on the glass layer surface can be prevented or controlled effectively.
COEFFICIENT OF THERMAL EXPANSION FILLER FOR VANADIUM-BASED FRIT MATERIALS AND/OR METHODS OF MAKING AND/OR USING THE SAME
Certain example embodiments relate to seals for glass articles. Certain example embodiments relate to a composition used for sealing an insulated glass unit. In certain example embodiments the composition includes vanadium oxide, barium oxide, zinc oxide, and at least one additional additive. For instance, another additive that is a different metal oxide or different metal chloride may be provided. In certain example embodiments, a composition may be combined with a binder solution that substantially or completely burns out by the time the composition is melted. In certain example embodiments, a CTE filter is included with a frit material. In certain example embodiments, a vacuum insulated glass unit includes first and second glass substrates that are sealed together with a seal that includes the above-described composition.
