Asphalt-based dust control formulations
This disclosure describes formulations and methods for dust control, for example, coal topping, a term which refers to the application of liquid products to the top of coal loads, such as those in open topped coal hopper railcars as commonly used today to transport coal. Disclosed herein are asphalt-based emulsion formulations that accomplish dust control during industrial operations in which dust handling is required.
Adjuvant combination of a milling assistant and a concrete admixture for accelerated hydration of cementitious binders
An adjuvant combination composed of a milling assistant and a concrete admixture for a composition including cement, for accelerating cement hydration, wherein the milling assistant includes at least one amino alcohol and at least one cement hydration accelerator selected from chlorides, thiocyanates, nitrates, nitrites and hydroxides, and the concrete admixture includes a reaction product of at least one calcium compound with at least one silicon compound selected from a silicon dioxide compound, a silica compound and a silicate compound. Using the adjuvant combination produces a significant acceleration in the hardening of a composition including cement, after the addition of water. This is an advantage especially in the production of prefabricated concrete components, allowing quicker deshuttering.
ULTRA-LIGHT MINERAL FOAM
A process for the production of a mineral foam includes separately preparing a slurry of cement and an aqueous foam, wherein the cement slurry includes water and Portland cement as well as calcium silicate hydrate crystallization seeds; contacting the slurry of cement with the aqueous foam to obtain a slurry of foamed cement; and casting the slurry of foamed cement and leave it to set.
COMPOSITION CONTAINING A SEMI-ORDERED CALCIUM SILICATE HYDRATE
A curing accelerator composition for building chemical mixtures comprises a mineral constituent and a polymeric water-soluble dispersant. The mineral constituent comprises a semi-ordered calcium silicate hydrate having an apparent crystallite size of 15 nm or less and less than 35% by weight of crystalline phases other than the semi-ordered calcium silicate hydrate. The composition displays a more pronounced accelerating effect than comparative compositions in which the mineral component comprises a calcium silicate hydrate having a higher degree of crystallinity.
ROOFING SHINGLE COMPOSITION
A roofing shingle is provided that comprises a shingle coating composition including a filler and a bituminous composition comprising at least one bitumen base, at least one compound of general Formula (I): Ar1R.sub.1Ar.sub.2 (I), and at least one compound of general formula (II): R.sub.2(NH).sub.nCONHX(NHCO).sub.p(NH).sub.nR.sub.2 (II). The invention also concerns a process for the preparation of a roofing shingle.

The invention also concerns a process for the preparation of a roofing shingle.
NEW CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL PREPARED FROM A NEW POZZOLANIC MATERIAL
A new construction material prepared from a new pozzolanic material.
Plugging and abandoning a well using extended-life cement compositions
Methods and systems for plug-and-abandon applications are included. A method comprises providing an extended-life cement composition comprising calcium aluminate cement, water, and a cement set retarder. The method further comprises mixing the extended-life cement composition with a cement set activator to activate the extended-life cement composition, introducing the activated extended-life cement composition into a wellbore, and allowing the activated extended-life cement composition to set in the wellbore to form a plug in the wellbore. The plug has a permeability of less than 0.1 millidarcy.
Composition for Activating Super Sulfated Cement
The invention relates to a composition for activating a super sulfated cement (SSC), the composition comprising calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) and/or calcium aluminate (CA) or a composition of both and calcium hydroxide (CH) wherein the composition comprises 65 wt. % to 85 wt. % CSA and/or CA and 15 wt. % to 35 wt. % CH and to a super sulfated cement comprising blast furnace slag, a calcium sulfate component and the composition for activating the super sulfated cement and concrete made from the super sulfated cement and predetermined aggregates.
Expansive cement
An expansive additive composition for use in Portland cements and a method of using such an additive composition is provided. The additive composition can include a calcium aluminate cement additive and a lithium compound. The additive composition is capable of producing expansion in set cements when the temperature is at or below room temperature and minimizes the amount of calcium aluminate cement additive needed.
