COMPOSITE ARTICLE COMPRISING AEROGEL PARTICLES AND CERAMIC FIBERS
A method for the preparation of a composite article containing aerogel particles and ceramic fibers, as well as to a composite article obtained by this method, are described.
Product and method for improving cement performance
Products, including treatment compositions, and methods for improving cement performance are provided. More specifically, products and methods for improving cement hydration, and thus cement performance, using vegetation are provided. The vegetation may be processed into a vegetative extract that may be used to create a treatment composition. The treatment composition may be used to enhance hydration of cement. The products and methods disclosed herein may be used to create a stronger, lower cost, and longer-lasting cementitious product.

System and methods of plugging ceramic honeycomb bodies
A system and method to dry plug cement in a ceramic honeycomb body during the manufacture of plugged ceramic honeycomb bodies. The system includes a heating element (520) configured to immediately heat without contact a face (502) of a ceramic honeycomb body (500) plugged with a wet plug cement (510) to rapidly dry and stiffen the plug cement (510) on the face (502) of the ceramic honeycomb body (500). The method includes immediately applying heat without contact to a face (502) of a ceramic honeycomb body (500) having wet plug cement (510) disposed in channels (508) of the ceramic honeycomb body at the face, and rapidly drying and stiffening the plug cement on the face of the ceramic honeycomb body.

SELF-HEALING POLYMER-MODIFIED CEMENTS FOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS
Examples of new polymer-modified cement formulations with self-healing capability at ambient temperature are described. These polymer-modified cements can be readily mixed with typical fine and coarse aggregates to build new concrete structures. One example of such a formulation includes a concrete comprising a MBA-BDA polymer having bond forming chemical functionality configured to form a bonding matrix between the polymer and at least one component of the concrete at a temperature less than 50 degrees C. wherein the matrix obtains at least 70% recovery of compressive strength after a damage event.
High temperature resistant Portland cement slurry and production method thereof
The invention provides a high temperature resistant Portland cement slurry and a production method thereof. The high temperature resistant Portland cement slurry comprises the following components by weight: 100 parts of an oil well Portland cement, 60-85 parts of a high temperature reinforcing material, 68-80 parts of fresh water, 1-200 parts of a density adjuster, 0.1-1.5 parts of a suspension stabilizer, 0.8-1.5 parts of a dispersant, 3-4 parts of a fluid loss agent, 0-3 parts of a retarder and 0.2-0.8 part of a defoamer. The high temperature resistant Portland cement slurry has a good sedimentation stability at normal temperature, and develops strength rapidly at a low temperature. The compressive strength is up to 40 MPa or more at a high temperature of 350° C., and the long-term high-temperature compressive strength develops stably without degradation. Therefore, it can meet the requirements for field application in heavy oil thermal recovery wells, reaching the level of Grade G Portland cement for cementing oil and gas wells.
