Wind direction indicator

A wind direction indicator for hunters includes a smoke generator, a housing, an electrical power source, an air pump and a switch all arranged such that the indicator may be actuated by a hunter using a single hand. The smoke generator may be a cartomizer as an example.

Deployment of expandable graphite

A method of deploying an apparatus in a wellbore comprises positioning a device at a predetermined location; wherein the device comprises a composition that contains an expandable graphite, and a metallic binder, and wherein the composition has a first shape; and exposing the composition to a microwave energy to cause the composition to attain a second shape different from the first shape. Alternatively, the composition further comprises an activation material comprising a thermite, a mixture of Al and Ni, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing and a method of deploying an apparatus comprising such a composition includes exposing the composition to a selected form of energy.

The present invention relates to a fog-generating device comprising a reagent (1), ignition means (2), a reservoir (3) containing a fog-generating material (4), and a heat exchanger wherein gas generated by ignition of the reagent (1) drives fog-generating material from said reservoir to said heat exchanger. Further it relates to a removable housing for a fog-generating device comprising a reagent and a reservoir containing a fog-generating material, wherein in that said removable housing further comprises means to allow transmission of an ignition signal from said fog-generating device to said reagent. The invention further provides the use of said device and/or removable housing for the generation of fog, in particular to protect against intruders and physical treat by persons. In a particular embodiment, the fog-generating device of the present invention or the removable housing therefore comprises depressurizing means (18). Depressurizing means allow the escape of gas from the device so that the pressure inside the device is reduced and becomes closer to atmospheric pressure.

Smoke screen generator

The present invention provides a smoke screen generator with a high diffusion rate of a smoke screen. Openings at both ends of a cylindrical housing are closed by a first closure 20 including an igniter and a second closure 30 having a smoke screen source discharge port 38 respectively. A porous cylindrical body 50 is arranged between the first closure 20 and the second closure 30. When an igniter 5 is actuated, a smoke screen generating agent 56 in a smoke screen generating agent-accommodating chamber 55 is ignited and burned, and a smoke screen source is generated. The smoke screen source moves and passes through the porous cylindrical body 50 and, after passing through a smoke screen source discharge port 38, the smoke screen source is discharged to the outside to generate a smoke screen.

White smoke mix

A mixture and method of creating the mixture includes mixing hexachloroethane, stannous oxide, and aluminum together. The mixture may be loaded into at least one canister. The mixture may be combusted to create a smoke screen. The loading of the mixture into the at least one canister may include pressurized loading at loading pressures in the range of approximately 2300 psi to 3600 psi. The hexachloroethane may include approximately 30-40 parts by weight of the mixture and have a particle size of approximately less than 850 m. The stannous oxide may include approximately 55-65 parts by weight of the mixture and have a particle size of approximately less than 150 m. The aluminum may include approximately 5-10 parts by weight of the mixture and have a particle size of approximately less than 45 m. The mixture is devoid of zinc chloride.
