TREATMENT OF A VIRAL PANDEMIC USING CIGARETTES WITH ADDED NITRATES
A modified cigarette is used as a low-cost, widely available combustion engine to deliver high-dose nitric oxide (NO) directly into the lungs of people ill from a viral lung pandemic, similar to the influenza virus or the coronavirus.
AEROSOL-GENERATING MATERIAL WITH COMBUSTION RETARDING PROPERTIES AND USES THEREOF
A material with combustion retarding properties including a combustion retarding salt and an aerosol-generating material, consumables including the material, and non-combustible aerosol provision systems including such consumables. Methods for manufacturing the material with combustion retarding properties and the use of a combustion retarding salt to retard combustion.
SMOKING ROLLING PAPER AND A METHOD FOR PACKAGING THE SAME
A smoking rolling paper and a method for rolling and packaging the same is provided. The smoking rolling paper is rolled into cylindrical shape and placed within an enveloping means. The smoking rolling paper is wrapped into cylindrical form causing the cigar tobacco paper to form a plurality of layers, wherein said layer comprises a double strip section. The rolled smoking rolling paper is then placed inside an enveloping means. The encased smoking rolling paper within the enveloping means allows for the smoking rolling paper to keep a cylindrical shape until delivered and used by a consumer. The enveloping means may maintain the moisture for longer time due to the rolling method prior to delivery to a consumer.
Aerosol delivery device with conductive inserts
The present disclosure provides aerosol delivery devices. In an example implementation, an aerosol delivery device comprises an aerosol source member that defines an outer surface and an interior area and includes a substrate material having an aerosol precursor composition associated therewith, a control body having a housing that is configured to receive the aerosol source member, an electrical energy source coupled with the housing, and a heating assembly operatively connected to the electrical energy source. The heating assembly includes a plurality of spikes that may be configured to articulate between a retracted position, in which the plurality of spikes is not in contact with the aerosol source member, and a heating position, in which the plurality of spikes pierces through the outer surface of the substrate material and into a portion of the interior area thereof.
NUCLEIC ACID SEQUENCES ENCODING TRANSCRIPTION FACTORS REGULATING ALKALOID BIOSYNTHESIS AND THEIR USE IN MODIFYING PLANT METABOLISM
Plant metabolism and alkaloid levels can be regulated by transcription factors that regulate the nicotinic alkaloid biosynthetic pathway. In one embodiment, the disclosure provides a transcription factor that negatively regulates alkaloid biosynthesis, such as nicotine biosynthesis.

Smoking article and method
A method of constructing a cigar includes the providing of a plurality of frusto-conically shaped tubes, each tube being of a smokable material such as a spirally wrapped layer of tobacco material. The tubes are nested, one tube inside the other tube. The nested tubes are then attached to a mouthpiece having a socket that is internally threaded. The nested tubes and mouthpiece are packaged either filled with tobacco filler material, partially filled, or unfilled in a container.
Flavor inhaler
A flavor inhaler comprising: a tubular holder that extends from a mouthpiece end to a distal end; a combustion type heat source that is provided at the distal end, contains activated carbon, and carries a first flavorant; and a flavor source that is held in the holder and carries a second flavorant, wherein the first flavorant contains at least one selected from the group consisting of anethole, 2-pinene, 3-citronellol, linalyl acetate, limonene, anisaldehyde, 4-terpineol, 2-β-pinene, jasmone, sabinene, linalool, 1,8-cineole, phenethyl alcohol, and myristicin, and the second flavorant contains at least one selected from the group consisting of α-terpinene, γ-terpinene, nerol, geraniol, and decanal.
ELECTRICALLY HEATED SMOKING ARTICLE
An electrically heated smoking article includes a filter rod, an aerosol medium rod stacked at a lower end of the filter rod and including an aerosol medium that generates an aerosol by heating and a moisture absorbent accommodating or absorbing the aerosol medium, and a wrapping portion surrounding and wrapping the filter rod and the aerosol medium rod to maintain a stack structure. The aerosol medium, including glycerin and a thickener, is maintained in a semi-solid or solid state in a first temperature range including room temperature and is in a liquefied state in a second temperature range higher than the first temperature range. The glycerin vaporizes in a third temperature range higher than the second temperature range to generate an aerosol. The thickener does not vaporize in the third temperature range but remains in the moisture absorbent.
APPLYING AN ADDITIVE UPON SHAPING SHEET MATERIAL INTO A ROD INCORPORATING A HEATABLE SUSCEPTOR
A device (1) for producing an aerosol-generating rod (2) includes a converging device (3), a conveyor system (13), a susceptor guide (15), and an additive dispensing pipe (21). The conveyor system is configured to convey sheet material (11) through the converging device. The susceptor guide is configured to guide a susceptor (9). The susceptor guide extends into the converging device along an axial direction and comprises an exit opening (19) for the susceptor within the converging device. The additive dispensing pipe has an end section (29) extending within the converging device in parallel with the susceptor guide. The end section comprises a dispensing opening (31) to dispense an additive through the dispensing opening.
