PROCESSES TO CREATE MULTIPLE VALUE STREAMS FROM BIOMASS SOURCES
Use of diverse biomass feedstock in a process for the recovery of target C5 and C6 alditols and target glycols via staged hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis processes is disclosed. Particular alditols of interest include, but are not limited to, xylitol and sorbitol. Various embodiments of the present invention synergistically improve overall recovery of target alditols and/or glycols from a mixed C5/C6 sugar stream without needlessly driving total recovery of the individual target alditols and/or glycols. The result is a highly efficient, low complexity process having enhanced production flexibility, reduced waste and greater overall yield than conventional processes directed to alditol or glycol production.

Process for preparing an epoxidation catalyst
A process for preparing a silver-containing catalyst for the selective oxidation of ethylene to ethylene oxide including the steps of: (a) providing a multimodal support, (b) preparing an impregnation solution comprising a silver component, (c) impregnating, at least once, the multimodal support of step (a) with the silver-containing impregnation solution of step (b) to form an impregnated support; (d) subjecting the impregnated multimodal support from step (c) to a removal means, such as a centrifuge, at least once, for a time sufficient to remove impregnated silver impregnation solution from the multimodal support and to control the amount of silver in the pores of the multimodal support by selectively removing impregnated silver impregnation solution from a set of larger pores in the multimodal support; (e) roasting, at least once, the multimodal support after the step (d); (f) optionally, repeating the impregnation step (c), (g) optionally, repeating the centrifugation step (d), and (h) optionally, repeating the calcination step (e).

Method for preparing 2-Cyclohexyl cyclohexanol
Provided is a method for preparing 2-cyclohexyl cyclohexanol, including: hydrogenating a cyclohexanone dimer with hydrogen gas at a temperature ranging from 150 to 250 C. in a reactor containing a catalyst to prepare 2-cyclohexylcyclohexanol, wherein the molar ratio of the hydrogen gas and oil ranges from 1 to 25. The method has advantages of high yield properties and allows for mass production, thereby enhancing the value of the industrial application.
Method for the direct synthesis of Cu-containing silicoaluminate material with the AEI zeolite structure, and the catalytic applications thereof
The main object of the present invention is to provide a new method for preparing the copper-containing silicoaluminate form of the AEI zeolite structure by means of a direct synthesis methodology. This new process involves combining a organometallic copper-complex with an additional organic molecule capable of directing the crystallisation of the silicoaluminate form of the AEI zeolite structure as organic structure-directing agents (OSDAs).
