There is provided a machine for producing an aerosol-forming composition for an aerosol-generating system, the machine including a plurality of reservoirs configured to contain components of an aerosol-forming composition; a mixing mechanism in communication with the plurality of reservoirs; a controller connected to, and configured to control, the mixing mechanism; a user interface connected to the controller for a user to operate the machine, the mixing mechanism being configured to mix selective quantities of components from the plurality of reservoirs according to specified ratios to create an aerosol-forming composition; a testing mechanism including a heater assembly configured to vaporize a test sample to form an aerosol, and at least one outlet configured to deliver the aerosol to the user; and a transfer mechanism configured to deliver the test sample to the testing mechanism. There is also provided a machine and process for producing and delivering the test sample.

The aerosol-generating article includes a housing with a first end and a second end. The housing defining a cavity. A first volatile substrate is in a first frangible capsule, where the first frangible capsule is between the first end and a middle section of the housing. At least a portion of a pre-vapor formulation retention medium is between the first end and the middle section of the housing. The vapor-generating article is configured to be connected to an electrically-operated vapor-generating device, where the vapor-generating article is configured to allow air to be drawn through from the first end to the second end if a negative pressure is applied to the second end. The vapor-generating system includes the vapor-generating article.

The aerosol-generating article include a plurality of elements coaxially aligned and assembled within a wrapper, the article having an outlet end and a distal end upstream from the outlet end. The article includes a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, and a liquid retention medium for retaining the liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The wrapper is formed from a sheet of liquid-impervious material, the liquid retention medium being in a first element of the plurality of elements.

An aerosol delivery device and an aerosol source member for use with an inductive heating aerosol delivery device are provided. The aerosol delivery device comprises a control body having a housing, a resonant transmitter located in the control body, a control component configured to drive the resonant transmitter, and an aerosol source member that includes a substrate portion at least a portion of which is configured to be positioned within range of a field emitted by the resonant transmitter. The substrate portion may include a substrate material and one or more separators, the one or more separators may be configured to separate the substrate material into a plurality of separate substrate segments, and the one or more separators may comprise susceptors configured to be heated by the resonant transmitter.

An aerosol-generating system has a biosensor configured to detect a biological characteristic of the user. A controller provides health data based on the at least one biological characteristic detected by the biosensor. The health data may be provided to the user, used to modify an aerosol delivery profile of an aerosolizer, stored for later use, or may be communicated to other devices.
