In adaptive clothing, magnetic members engage to magnetically fasten a lower front layer and an upper front layer. A first magnetic member is provided in a housing having a base extending beyond the boundaries of the magnet. The base is sewn to fabric. The housing is secured in a placket to be affixed to a garment upper layer. A second magnetic member is placed in an interior enclosure of a lower front layer. A button or other component is secured to the exterior side of the upper front layer to provide the appearance of a buttoned placket. To close the garment, the first magnetic member is brought in proximity to the second magnetic member. The placket may be constructed as a separate unit and attached to the garment in a separate operation, allowing construction of the placket without manipulating the entire garment. Cuffs are prepared in a manner similar to the placket.

The present invention concerns an article of apparel including: a first woven area, where the first woven area includes a first weaving density and a first yarn weight per unit length; a second woven area arranged adjacent to the first woven area, where the second woven area includes a second weaving density and a second yarn weight per unit length; and a third woven area arranged adjacent to the second woven area, where the third woven area includes a third weaving density and a third yarn weight per unit length. The second weaving density in the second woven area changes gradually from the first weaving density to the third weaving density and/or the second yarn weight per unit length in the second woven area changes gradually from the first yarn weight per unit length to the third yarn weight per unit length.

Systems and method for filling apparel with gases, fluids, or fluid-like solids to enable the accurate three-dimensional capture of apparel by three-dimensional scanning and stereo photogrammetry
10436575 · 2019-10-08 · ·

The present invention provides a system for accurate three-dimensional (3D) capture of apparel by 3D scanning and stereo photogrammetry. One or more flexible deflated bladders are inserted into an apparel and inflated by a filling media source. The bladder is inflated to measure at least one of size of the apparel, tensile strength of the fabric of the apparel, or cross section perimeter of the apparel. A rotating structure is anchored onto the stable structure to uniformly rotate all the fixed points of the apparel. One or more 3D scanners are configured to scan the inflated apparel on the stable structure and export the scanned data to one or more software applications. The processor retrieves the 3D scanned dimensional data from a searchable database and compares the given apparel's dimensions with one or more apparels' dimensions in the database to provide the customer with size recommendation via a display.

Analytics System for Detecting Athletic Fatigue, and Associated Methods

Systems and methods for detecting athletic performance and fatigue are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method for monitoring athletic performance of an athlete includes: monitoring a heart rate (HR) of the athlete by a wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor carried by the athlete; determining a rate of change of the HR over a period of time; comparing the rate of change to a predetermined threshold; and based on the comparing, determining whether the athlete is fatigued.

LIGHT RADIATING PROBE FOR PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY EMPLOYING ENDOSCOPE

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a light radiating probe which is flexible and uniformly radiates light emitted from a light scattering and radiating portion at all azimuth angles of 360 so as to enable the simultaneous radiation of light to cancers disposed at a plurality of places scattered in a wide region. The light radiating probe for photodynamic therapy according to the present invention includes an optical fiber which extends in an axial direction and through which light from a light source propagates, in which the optical fiber has a light guide portion which is formed by forming thin film cladding on a side surface of a flexible core, and a light scattering and radiating portion which is configured to scatter, with uniform intensity, light propagating through the light guide portion to a periphery of the light scattering and radiating portion in all azimuth angles with respect to an axial direction of the flexible core.

A garment having an outer surface not designed for writing has at least one rewritable area comprising a layer of rewritable material deposited directly onto a selected region of the outer surface. One or more permanent artworks may be deposited onto the garment prior to deposit of the rewritable layer, which may be contiguous or non-contiguous. A stencil is provided for allowing a user to write on rewritable areas while protecting adjacent areas of the garment. In one method for forming the rewritable area, a first portion of a permanent artwork and a second portion of the permanent artwork are successively deposited on the garment, followed by curing the permanent artwork and depositing a rewritable area on the garment.
