MULTI-LAYER NURSING BRA AND NURSING BRA SYSTEM
20230320435 · 2023-10-12 ·

Concepts provided are directed to a multi-layer nursing bra and a nursing bra system to be worn by a wearer. The multi-layer nursing bra includes an outer layer positioned over an inner layer. One or more edges of the outer layer and one or more edges of the inner layer may be manipulated to form an opening for breast feeding. The nursing bra system is composed of the multi-layer nursing bra and an upper-body garment configured to be layered over the multi-layer nursing bra. The upper-body garment includes a nursing opening on a front portion of the upper-body garment to provide access to the opening created in the multi-layer nursing bra when needed.

HIGH IMPACT AND HIGH SUPPORT BRAS

Bras for high impact, high support activities are provided. A bra comprises a band that wraps around a torso. The band includes first and second cup regions, and a channel that runs below the collective cup regions. A gore is formed above the channel and between the respective cup regions, adjoining the respective cup regions. A molded cradle is fitted into the channel. For each cup region, a tessellated encapsulating bra cup is fitted therein. Each tessellated encapsulating bra cup includes a plurality of tiles. Respective tiles in the plurality of tiles that are further away from the cradle are larger in size than respective tiles in the plurality of tiles that are closer to the cradle. Each tessellated encapsulating bra cup has a generally concave first inner face and a generally convex first outer face. The tessellated encapsulating bra cups collectively contribute cantilevered support to the bra.

Bra, bra cup, and method of manufacturing same

A bra cup for a bra includes an inner layer of material configured to face a wearer's breast when the bra is worn and an outer layer of material configured to face away from the wearer when the bra is worn. An outer face of the inner layer of material is adjacent an inner face of the outer layer of material. A thin polymer web is disposed on the outer face of the inner layer of material. A bra including the bra cup and a method of manufacturing the bra cup are also disclosed.

Systems and methods can be used for imaging breasts and for designing and manufacturing custom bras or garments for a subject with breast asymmetry. For example, disclosed herein is a method for capturing multiple images of the subject and processing images into a digital model representing the 3D structure of the breasts of the subject. The system processes the digital model to determine characteristics of the subject's breasts and chest wall including volume, shape, protrusion, and asymmetry. The subject inputs preferences and transmits the preferences and digital model to a networked additive manufacturing device for construction of customized bra components or other garments.
