Cooling garments, warming garments, and related methods
The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.
Method and apparatus for early detection of diabetic foot disorders by analyzing foot temperature and vertical and shear forces on feet
A system for analysis of user gait and foot disorder intended to minimize risks ulceration and limb amputation associated with the uncontrolled increase of the foot temperature in persons with diabetes. This system comprises a motion, force and temperature sensors and a processing element configured to process motion algorithms, measure ground reaction force (GRF) and changes in foot temperature embedded in the footwear insoles in communication with a smartphone based analysis application using wireless radio interface. The analysis application processes data received from the footwear sensors, compares the results with set of criteria and rules, and if any of the predefined criteria is exceeded, provides alerts to the user and the remote medical supervisor. Additionally, the insoles may be equipped with a haptic actuators configured to determine the level of the user neuropathy by measuring vibration perception threshold (VPT) level.
SELF-RESONATING WIRELESS SENSOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system and method of detecting changes in an environment of an open circuit resonator configured to generate a signal when wirelessly powered by an external oscillating magnetic field, wherein the signal varies as a function of one or more environmental factors associated with the environment about the open circuit resonator. A monitoring device receives the signal from the open circuit resonator, captures data representative of the signal, compares the captured data to data previously received from the sensor to determine changes in the data, and estimates, based on the changes in the data, changes in one or more of the environmental factors.
Gamer hoodie
An upper torso garment includes a torso section extending from a waist region to a neck region, a front region positioned adjacent to a chest of a wearer of the garment, and a back region positioned adjacent to a back of the wearer. The torso section includes a left torso region and a right torso region. A quick draw pocket is positioned on the left or right lateral side of the front region of the torso section, proximate to the waist region. The quick-draw pocket includes a pocket opening on a laterally outer side of the quick-draw pocket and a holster pocket opening on a longitudinal top edge of the quick-draw pocket. The pocket opening leads to a pocket chamber, and the holster pocket opening leads to a holster pocket chamber separate from the pocket chamber. The holster pocket chamber overlaps the pocket chamber in a stacked configuration.
Vibrating Garment to Reduce Muscle Pain During Intense Exercise
The claimed subject matter relates novel method and apparatus for dulling non -injury associated, exercise induced pain using a new vibrational device. Provided is a wearable garment for reduction of muscle pain during intense physical exercise, comprising a garment adapted to conform to a shape of a portion of a human body; a plurality of interconnected vibrators and incorporated into the garment at intervals throughout the garment; a power source coupled to the plurality of vibrators; an instruction execution system; logic, executed on the instruction execution system and stored on a non -transitory storage medium, the logic comprising instructions for controlling the plurality of vibrators to deliver vibrations to the portion of the human body during exercise.
SHARK-PROOF APPAREL COMPRISING AN ELECTROMAGNETIC-BASED SHARK REPELLENT SYSTEM
A garment to repel underwater aquatic creatures. A first component for generating a control signal and a second component for receiving the control signal and transmitting an electromagnetic signal responsive thereto, an electromagnetic field created by the electromagnetic signal radiating from the second component into an aquatic area surrounding the garment. A water sensor disposed on the garment for activating the first and second components to transmit the electromagnet signal when the water sensor senses presence of water.
CHRONIC LOWER EXTREMITY WOUND TREATMENT MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A lower extremity wound system can include a lower extremity wound treatment monitoring device and an external user interface. The monitoring device can be associated with a primary wound dressing. In general, the sensors would not be placed in direct contact with the wound, and may also include within a base unit and placed on a posterior calf of the patient. The base unit can include multiple sensors, a controller, and a communication module. The controller can receive and process information from the sensors, and algorithmically determine whether to communicate information relating to the information from the sensors via the communication module to an external recipient. The external wound care information system can receive the information from the sensors, and if appropriate, can prompt a patient to alter their behavior so they are in compliance with their wound treatment plan, or inform a patient-care provider of a status change.
POWERED GARMENTS, PORTABLE DEVICES CONTROLLING POWERED GARMENTS, CHARGERS FOR POWERED GARMENTS, ENCLOSURES FOR STORING POWERED GARMENTS, AND INTERCONNECTIONS OF POWERED GARMENTS
In selected examples, a hanger couples to an electrically-powered garment, to provide electrical energy to the garment to recharge the battery of the garment. The electrical energy may be transferred from the hanger to the garment using inductive coupling. The electrical energy may also or instead be transferred using contact coupling facilitated by magnet(s) in the interfaces of the hanger system and the garment. The garment may include biometric, environmental, and other sensors to collect data. The hanger system-garment interfaces may provide for data flow between the hanger and the garment. In selected examples, a smart garment may be controlled by a smartphone or another mobile device. The smartphone may control several smart garments, which may be connected in series and/or in parallel, with one of the smart garments being a master connected to the smartphone, and the other garments being slave garments connected to the smartphone through the master.
