Wearable article with removable module
A system includes a wearable article and a housing assembly including a receptacle defining a chamber and having an access opening providing access to the chamber to removably receive an electronic module within the chamber. The housing assembly further includes an interface having first and second electrical contacts exposed to the chamber. First and second conductive leads are connected to the electrical contacts through the bottom side of the receptacle to place the leads in electronic communication with the contacts. The housing assembly is bonded between top and bottom layers of material forming a portion of the wearable article, such that the layers are bonded to the receptacle by a bonding material.
Merchandise With Flexible Display and Detachable Component
A garment system is provided, including: a main component configured to be worn by a user, the main component having a flexible display portion and a sensor; a detachable component configured to be detachably coupled to the main component; wherein the sensor detects when the detachable component is attached to, or detached from, the main component, and responsively triggers a change in imagery presented on the flexible display portion in response to said attachment or detachment of the detachable component.
Garment with an emergency device and associated emergency method
A garment is intended to identify a danger situation for the user and react. The garment comprises an emergency device provided with sensors. Furthermore, the emergency device comprises an electronic processing unit and a supervisor and communication unit. The supervisor and communication unit, after being informed of the danger situation by the electronic processing unit, monitors the user by means of the sensors and assesses the level of user activity in order to decide or not to call for further assistance.
Multilayer composite material and method for manufacturing
The invention relates to a structural multilayer composite comprising a layer of leather in contact with at least one monolayer comprising parallel aligned fibers and a matrix material. The composite may further comprise film layer(s) that may be breathable and/or waterproof. The structural multilayer composite material is suitable for use in clothing and outdoor gear and apparel.

Composite textile structure for sensing, activation, and signal network
Embodiments of the disclosure provide structures for sensing, activation, and signal networking in a composite textile. According to one embodiment, a composite textile can comprise an activation layer of a reactive yarn knit into a fabric. The reactive yarn can have at least one physical property that changes in response to a stimulus. A signaling layer of a first conductive yarn can be knit into the fabric with the activation layer. The first conductive yarn provides the stimulus to the reactive yarn. A sensing layer comprising second conductive yarn can be knit into the fabric with the activation layer and signaling layer. The second conductive yarn can provide a feedback signal corresponding to the stimulus provided by the first conductive yarn of the signaling layer.
Garment and alert system
A garment includes a garment body, a wear detection device configured to detect whether the garment body is worn by a worker, and a control device configured to output an alert signal for controlling an alert device based on detection data of the wear detection device.
System and method for maintaining sensor contact
A garment includes a securing portion operable to removably secure the garment about an abdomen of a wearer; a sensor attachment portion pivotably attached to the securing portion, the sensor attachment portion including a sensor mount configured to receive and retain a sensor therein; and a sensor received in the flexible sensor mount; the securing portion and the sensor attachment portion being configured such that, when the securing portion is secured around the back of a wearer, the sensor attachment portion pivots with respect to the securing portion so as to self-position the sensor attachment portion across (a) an upper portion of the wearer's abdomen or (b) a lower portion of the wearer's abdomen; the flexible sensor mount being configured to orient a sensor received therein to be flush with skin of the wearer when the garment is worn by the wearer and to self-adjust during the course of pregnancy.
Systems and methods for real-time item identification and sourcing
A device for transmitting real-time identification of a fashion item for receipt by a portable wireless computing device operated by a consumer located in a non-store location observing the fashion item, the device comprising: a Bluetooth fashion-item identification chip including: a fashion-item-use sensor; a processor operably connected to the fashion-item-use-sensor; a Bluetooth low energy transmitter operably linked to the processor; a battery operably connected to the fashion-item-use sensor, Bluetooth low energy transmitter, and the processor for providing power to operate the device; and a machine washable coating deposited around the periphery of the device for protecting the interior of the device from repeated exposure to water, heat, and chemicals utilized to maintain the fashion item. The device is utilized in the methods and systems of the invention for real-time identification of a fashion-item observed by a consumer in a non-store location and for real-time time purchase of the identified fashion-item via the consumer's portable electronic device.
Short-range conducted electrical weapon
A short-range conducted electrical weapon (“conducted electrical weapon”) may be configured to deploy electrodes having a minimum spacing when coupled to a target at short-range. The conducted electrical weapon may comprise a housing. The housing may comprise a target end opposite a grip end. The grip end may be configured to removably receive a cartridge. The cartridge may house two or more electrodes. The target end may comprise one or more activation buttons or terminals. In response to the activation buttons or terminals being activated, the electrodes may be launched from the cartridge in the grip end. The electrodes may be disposed in the cartridge at an obtuse angle relative to the placement of the opposite electrode. The obtuse angle may enable the electrodes to be deployed effectively at short range.
