The present invention provides a photocurable composition containing an ultraviolet absorber, which has high photocurability and yields a cured material having a high cutting capacity against ultraviolet rays from the outside, a low yellow index, and colorlessness and transparency. The present invention relates to a sheet-shaped photocurable composition which includes the following components (A) to (D), and when a cured material obtained after photocuring the photocurable composition has a thickness of 150 m, a yellow index of the cured material is 4.0 or less and a light transmittance of the cured material at a wavelength of 385 nm is 5.0% or less: a component (A): a (meth)acrylate compound, a component (B): a film forming resin, a component (C): a photoinitiator, and a component (D): an ultraviolet absorber.

High heat resistant and high scratch resistant water-based polyurethane and manufacturing method thereof

A method for manufacturing high heat resistant and high scratch resistant water-based polyurethane, which can improve the mechanical strength and water resistance of water-based polyurethane by using acrylate graft modification, is provided. In particular, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (2-HEA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl acrylate (EA), acrylic acid (AA), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and triallyl isocyanuric acid ester (TAIC) are used to dilute polyurethane prepolymer. As a result, the prepolymer has a good dispersing effect, and further, waterborne bridging agent and cellulose nanofiber are added to the water-based polyurethane to obtain water-based polyurethane which has high heat resistance and scratch resistance.

A CROSSLINKED POLYMER AND RELATED METHODS THEREOF

There is provided a method of crosslinking a polyhydroxyurethane (PHU) polymer having a plurality of diene moieties, preferably furan in the backbone and a crosslinked PHU polymer by reacting with a crosslinking agent having two or more dienophile moieties. Also provided is a method of removing the crosslinks of a crosslinked PHU polymer comprising a plurality of diene-dienophile adducts.

METHODS FOR PRODUCING HELMET INSERTS WITH MATERIALS HAVING MULTIPLE MECHANISMS OF HARDENING

A method of forming a three-dimensional object, wherein said three-dimensional object is an insert for use between a helmet and a human body, is described. The method may use a polymerizable liquid, or resin, useful for the production by additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object, comprising a mixture of (i) a light polymerizable liquid first component, and (ii) a second solidifiable component that is different from said first component.

Polymerizable liquids are described herein which, in some embodiments, can produce 3D printed articles of high resolution and desirable mechanical properties. In one aspect, a polymerizable liquid comprises an acrylate component, a polymeric additive, and a monomeric curing agent, wherein the acrylate component and monomeric curing agent are copolymerizable upon exposure to light. In being copolymerizable, the acrylate component and monomeric curing agent can form a copolymer. As described father herein, the monomeric curing agent can enable further reaction of the copolymer with one or more crosslinking species to link the copolymer with one more polymeric networks.

Coating compositions, elastic barrier coatings formed therefrom, and methods of applying such coatings

A coating composition that includes a polymer having (i) a barrier segment with aromatic groups and urethane linkages, urea linkages, or a combination thereof and (ii) an elastomeric segment that is different from (i). The barrier segment makes up at least 30 weight % of the polymer based on the total solids weight of the polymer. Further, the composition also includes an adhesion promoter having: (a) at least one epoxy functional polymer and a thiol functional crosslinker reactive with the epoxy functional polymer; and/or (b) a hydrazide functional component.

Primer for digital printing

The present invention is directed to primer coatings that enhance the adhesion of liquid digital printing inks and toners to the substrate. The coatings comprise one or more polyurethane dispersions and one or more acrylic emulsions. The coatings of the present invention improve resistance to mineral oils, such as those typically found in liquid digital printing inks and toners. The primer coatings of the invention also reduce blocking, so that a primer coated reel of substrate may be easily unrolled, even after having been stored in the rolled reel for an extended period of time.

The disclosure provides specific initiator/mediator chemistry for latent imaging polymers for volume Bragg gratings. Light mediated chemistry including the use of nitroxides allows a first step imaging to occur, where a light induced pattern is recorded in the material, without the grating being apparent. A second bleaching/developing step completes the curing process and reveals the grating.
