The invention provides head, neck, chest, and spine logical impact protection and thermal-regulation device having a webbing adapted to encapsulate head and neck, wherein the webbing is composed of a plurality of reversibly deformable substrates that are capable of being cooled or heated; wherein the webbing further provides apertures interspersed between the reversibly deformable substrates to allow fluid exchange between the head, neck, chest, and spine and the regions exterior to the webbing; and a temperature indicator, wherein the temperature indicator measures the temperatures of the body surface underlaying the webbing.

A garment having an inner side and an outer side and a fastening mechanism to fasten the garment while worn, a number of trapezoidal drain compartments spatially arranged and attached on the inner side of the garment, each trapezoidal drain compartment having a top opening sized to accept a stock drain bulb vertically therein and a closed bottom wide enough to accommodate the drain bulb rotated to a horizontal position therein, a same number of tube retention straps spatially arranged and attached on the inner side of the garment, each retention strap having a top opening and a bottom opening of a same size roughly equal to the width of the closed bottom side of the trapezoidal drain compartments, each retention strap vertically centered over, spaced above, and attached to the garment at a uniform distance above a trapezoidal drain compartment attached to the garment.

A shock-absorbing face guard connector for an athletic helmet such as a helmet worn in American football, ice hockey, cricket, or baseball and softball. The shock-absorbing face guard connector couples a face guard to the athletic helmet, and can absorb some or all of the forces resulting from a strike to the face guard amid play. The shock-absorbing face guard connector includes a compressible piece that can compressible yield when the face guard is struck.

The articles and methods may further be used for health and fitness assessment.

A garment assembly such as a uniform, a military uniform and a military combat uniform is presented. The garment assembly includes a helmet or head cover being cut from a fabric having a first camouflage pattern with a first set of intermixed colored blotches thereon. The colors of the first set of intermixed colored blotches being selected from a first group of colors including an Olive 527 color, a Dark Green 528 color, a Tan 525 color, a Brown 529 color, a Bark Brown 561 color and a Dark Cream 559 color. A sports trouser is provided, comprising: a trouser portion having a waistband portion (11) from which a bifurcated leg portion (12) depends; and a halter portion (13) extending from the waistband portion to loop, when worn, around the back of the neck of the wearer, thereby to apply an upward force to the waistband portion, wherein the halter portion is anchored to the waistband portion so as to apply force at at least two positions arranged on either side of the body sagittal plane each being rearward of the body coronal plane, the halter portion being anchored so as to extend to the neck crossing the body coronal plane beneath the arms of the wearer. The trouser may thereby be more convenient to don and doff, and may thereby be more comfortable to wear.

An article of footwear (100), apparel (500, 600), and/or sporting equipment (300, 400), and methods of manufacturing thereof, having a hydrogel present on at least a portion of an externally-facing side of the article. The hydrogel is effective in reducing soil accumulation on the article, and/or for reducing soil adhesion to the article.

A flexible unit cell is disclosed. The flexible unit cell is a single unit that can be repeated and interconnected to create a flexible design such as a covering for an object or person. The flexible unit includes a rigid portion and a flexible connection portion. Flexible units connect via the flexible connection portion to form a flexible design that can move and flex based on the connection of the flexible connection portions between flexible units. Further, the rigid portions of the flexible units may not be connected, allow such movement. The flexible unit is designed such that a flexible design made using such flexible units maintains a degree of rigidity so it can keep a shape of a surface of an object, but also maintains enough flexibility to conform to the surface even if the object bends or moves. Further disclosed are processes for manufacturing such flexible unit cells.

A plate carrier (such as a vest) is provided having shock absorption capabilities for absorbing shock in response to movement of a plate within the carrier resulting from movement of the wearer. The plate carrier can include a cradle that supports the plate within a pocket from underneath. Stretchable material may be incorporated into the cradle to provide shock absorption. For example, the cradle may include a limit strap hanging to form a first loop and a shock-absorption strap hanging to form a second loop spaced above the first loop. The shock-absorption strap may be formed from a material more stretchable than the limit strap, for example, so that the limit strap provides a limit of plate deflection and shock absorption provided.

An article of weightlifting equipment includes a weightlifting jacket having a main vest-shaped body having a front covering the torso of a user, a back connected to the front, and one or more pads that provide a cushion to provide comfort and to protect the user from injury by reducing the force on the body caused by a barbell. The pads include a front pad that is positioned on the portion of the jacket front to cover the lower torso of a user wearing the weightlifting jacket. The jacket also includes one or more adjustable straps that allow the jacket to be fitted for users of different sizes. The equipment can have other forms, such as a belt instead of a jacket for positioning the torso pad.
