TWO-COMPONENT 100% NON-VOLATILE PAINT
A paint according to aspects of the present application has two components that form a solid material when mixed. A lack of Volatile Organic Compounds assist in distinguishing paint according to aspects of the present application from many existing paints. By controlling humidity in the spray (application) booth or in a separate curing booth, the time to cure the coating may be correspondingly controlled. That is, the higher the Relative Humidity, the faster the cure. When heat is introduced along with humidity, the time to cure the coating may be further controlled.
METHODS OF MAKING POLYPEPTIDES
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a method of forming a polypeptide. The method includes contacting a first amino acid-derived N-thiocarboxyanhydrosulfide monomer as a crystalline solid with a polymerization initiator (e.g., in an alkane suspension) to give a polypeptide product. The method further includes contacting the polypeptide product with a second amino acid-derived N-thiocarboxyanhydrosulfide monomer in an alkane suspension.

PRESSURE SENSITIVE FLOW DISTRIBUTION MEDIUM FOR VARTM
A method for manufacturing a fibre reinforced composite by means of a vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding, comprising the steps of placing a fibre material in a mould, placing a flow distribution medium onto the fibre material, and covering the fibre material (1) and the flow distribution medium with a vacuum foil for forming a closed mould cavity between the mould and the vacuum foil is described. It is characterised in using a flow distribution medium with a thickness depending on a pressure gradient over the vacuum foil.

These compounds can be obtained in a three-step synthesis from simple substrates. The compounds according to the invention have excellent solubility in organic solvents and excellent film-forming properties. In addition, high efficiency of energy conversion, excellent field-effect mobility, good on/off current ratios and/or excellent stability can be observed, when the compounds according to the invention are used in organic field effect transistors, organic photovoltaics (solar cells) and photodiodes. ##STR00001##
Nylon blend for improved mechanical properties of monofilaments and multifilament fibers
A filament comprising a polymer blend and specific articles comprising the filament are disclosed. The polymer blend includes an aliphatic nylon and a semiaromatic nylon. The aliphatic nylon is the major component of the blend and semiaromatic nylon is the minor component of the blend. The aliphatic nylon can be Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 610, Nylon 612, Nylon 12, and mixtures thereof. The semiaromatic nylon can be 6I/6T, 6T/6I, and mixtures thereof. The nylon blend filament provides enhanced mechanical properties such as modulus, ultimate strength, and yield strength with improved processability and reduced diameter variability at a reduced cost.
MECHANICALLY ROBUST LINKED PARTICLE NETWORKS
A method of forming lightweight structures from particle networks includes functionalizing edges of particles of an anisotropic material, exfoliating of the particles to form sheets of the material, aligning the sheets of material to form a network of multi-layered and aligned particles, and forming a structure out of the network of particles. One example uses graphite powder mixed into 4-aminobenzoic acid for edge functionalization, and exfoliation occurs with sonication in a solvent. The resulting particles undergo alignment with an aligning nozzle that also dispenses the aligned particles to form a structure.
