The present invention relates to an aqueous polyurethane dispersion, a method for the preparation thereof, a product comprising the same, and use thereof for a coating composition, an impregnating composition, an adhesive or a sealant. The aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprises a polyurethane obtained by reacting a system comprising the following components: A1) at least one polyisocyanate having an isocyanate functionality of not less than 2; A2) at least two different polytetramethylene ether glycols A2a) and A2b), the A2a) having a number average molecular weight of not more than 1500 g/mol, the A2b) having a number average molecular weight of more than 1500 g/mol; and A3) at least one anionic or potentially anionic hydrophilic agent having a number average molecular weight of 32 g/mol to 400 g/mol and containing hydroxyl and carboxyl functions; B) at least one amino-functional anionic or potentially anionic hydrophilic agent; and C) at least one amino-functional compound having a number average molecular weight of 32 g/mol to 400 g/mol and containing no hydrophilic group; wherein the ratio of the number average molecular weight of the A2a) to the number average molecular weight of the A2b) is 1:9 to less than 1:1, and the weight of the A3) amounts to 20% to 70% of the weight of the hydrophilic agents of the system, wherein the hydrophilic agents of the system are components A3 and B.

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a coating, a coated substrate, an adhesive, film or sheet, which process comprises the application of a formulation mixture containing a reactive system onto a substrate. According to the invention a low VOC formulation mixture is used, wherein more than 40% of the carbon in the combined amount of the formulation mixture is modern carbon according to ASTM D6866.

Polyimide varnish and method for producing same

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a, polyimide film having high transparency and improved bending resistance against multiple times of bending, and a varnish capable of providing such a polyimide film. The varnish according to the present invention contains a polymer (α) and a solvent (β). The polymer (α) is polyimide or a polyimide precursor. The varnish further contains a typical metal element having an atomic weight of 26-201 except alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, or at least one metal element among transition metal elements having an atomic weight of 26-201 or less. At least one of the metal elements contained in the varnish is present in an amount of 0.05-500 ppm relative to the polymer (α).

Disclosed herein is a 2K coating system consisting of two components (A) and (B) being separate from each other, where (A) includes at least one constituent (a1) containing at least one aromatic moiety and bearing on average at least two primary and/or secondary amino groups, where (B) includes at least one constituent (b1) containing at least one aromatic moiety and bearing on average at least two isocyanate groups, where each of (A) and (B) has a solid content of at least 95 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the respective component, and constituent (b1) present in component (B) bears carbodiimide and/or uretonimine units and at least one structural unit (I). Also disclosed herein are a coating composition obtainable by mixing components (A) and (B), a method of using said coating composition as sealant, a method of applying the coating composition to a substrate, and a sealed substrate.

The present invention enables the achievement of a coating agent composition which contains a perfluoropolyether compound (A) of a specific structure, and dissolves into at least one volatile organic solvent that does not contain a fluorine atom without using a fluorine-containing solvent having a boiling point of 260° C. or less at atmospheric pressure by setting the content ratio of a non-functional perfluoropolyether compound (B) relative to a total of 100% by mole of the component (A) and the component (B) to less than 2.5% by mole, while forming a cured coating film by being rapidly cured on a base material, said cured coating film firmly adhering to the base material and exhibiting excellent water repellent oil repellent properties, sliding properties, mold releasability and the like.

AQUEOUS COATINGS MADE FROM POLYHYDROXYALKANOATE (PHA) CAKE

A biodegradable aqueous mixture for coating substrates is disclosed, which includes from about 35 to about 75 weight percent water and from about 25 to about 65 weight percent solids. The solids in turn are made up of from about 40 to about 99 weight percent polyhydroxyalkanoates based on the total dry weight of the solids. Moreover, the polyhydroxyalkanoates are in the form of polyhydroxyalkanoate particles having a moisture content of no less than about 1% by weight prior to mixing with the water and a Dv (90) particle size of no more than about 10 microns, as determined using ISO 8130-13:2019.

Aqueous Basecoat Composition Comprising A Silane-Based Additive And Having Improved Adhesion Properties And Multilayer Coatings Produced From Said Basecoat Compositions

Described herein is an aqueous basecoat composition including a silane-based additive as hardener/self-crosslinking material to improve adhesion of the basecoat to the under—and overlying coating layers, as well as the cohesion property of the basecoat itself. Also described herein is a mixer system for preparing an aqueous refinish basecoat composition including at least one base color component, at least one pigment-free component, at least one hardening component including the silane-based additive and optionally at least one rheology module as well as a method to prepare an aqueous basecoat composition from said mixer system. Further, described herein is a method of coating a substrate with the basecoat composition and a clearcoat composition and jointly curing the basecoat and clearcoat composition as well as to a coated substrate obtained from the method. Finally, described herein is a method of using the silane-based compound as hardening additive in aqueous basecoat compositions.
