An object of the present invention is to provide a polyester resin having good producibility and color tone, containing fewer foreign bodies, and showing good adhesion to a metal substrate and curability.
A polyester resin containing 2 to 10 ppm by mass of titanium in terms of metal and 50 to 100 ppm by mass of zinc in terms of metal, in which the number of foreign bodies contained in the polyester resin is 15 or less per 5 g of the polyester resin.
ANTIMONY FREE FLAME-RETARDED EPOXY COMPOSITIONS
A curable epoxy composition suitable for surface application, comprising one or more epoxy resin(s); 2,4,6-tribromophenyl end-capped tetrabromobisphenol A epoxy-based flame retardant; and phosphorus-containing compound selected from the group consisting of one or more of: ammonium polyphosphate; resorcinol bis (diphenyl phosphate); and liquid alkylated triphenyl phosphate ester. The composition is substantially Sb.sub.2O.sub.3-free.

Bio-based Epoxy Coating Compositions and Methods of Preparation Thereof
The disclosure relates to epoxy-based compositions comprising a decarboxylated rosin acid (DCR) component, suitable as an efficient plasticizer. It further improves hardness, elasticity, UV exposure viability properties of the paint and coating compositions. The DCR increases the bio-based renewable material content of a coating formulation and provide solutions for phthalate-free products. The DCR has a density of 0.9 to 1.0 g/cm.sup.3, a flash point of 135 to 175° C., an acid value of < 50 mg KOH/g, measured according to ASTM D465, and a viscosity of 15 to 60 cSt at 40° C., measured according to ASTM D-445.
Curable polyfarnesene-based compositions
A polymer having a hydrophobic polymer chain derived from monomers of farnesene and other optional monomers, such as dienes and vinyl aromatics. The polymer also includes one or more terminal functional groups, such as an amino group, a glycidyl group, a carboxylic acid group, a (meth)acrylate group, a silane group, an isocyanate group, an acetoacetate group, a phenolic group, and a hydroxyl group. Functional groups, such as carboxylic acids, may also be grafted along the hydrophobic polymer chain. The polymer may be incorporated in curable compositions that optionally include one or more polymer resins having similar functional groups. Methods for preparing the curable polymer compositions are also provided. The curable or cured form of the polymer composition may be used in various products, such as a sealant, a coating, a caulk, an electric potting compound, a membrane, a sponge, a foam, an adhesive, or a propellant binder.
AMINE EPOXY RESIN ADDUCT
An amine-functional adduct from the reaction of an amine mixture containing at least one diamine of formula (I) and at least one diamine of formula (II) in a weight ratio ranging from 65/35 to 95/5 with at least one diepoxide in a stoichiometric ratio of at least 1. 2 moles of diamine of the formula (I) to 1 mole equivalent of epoxide groups. The adduct is liquid at room temperature without diluent even in the presence of a small excess of diamine and is surprisingly low in viscosity. In addition, it is particularly cost-effective, as it is available from an amine mixture that is technically easy to produce. The adduct enables low-emission or emission-free epoxy resin coatings with surprisingly good workability at surprisingly fast curing, which have a high hardness and low tendency to yellowing, and which hardly tend to blushing-related defects even in cold and humid conditions.
TWO-COMPONENT COATING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a two-component coating system comprising a first component and a second component each of which is separate and distinct from each other, wherein the first component comprises a carboxylic acid functional polymer dissolved and/or dispersed in an aqueous medium, and the second component comprises a multi-aziridine compound having: a) from 2 to 6 of the following structural units (A): b) whereby m is an integer from 1 to 8; and o R′ and R″ are both H b) one or more linking chains wherein each one of these linking chains links two of the structural units A; c) one or more connecting groups whereby each one of the connecting groups connects two of the structural units A; and d) a molecular weight in the range from 840 Daltons to 5000 Daltons, wherein the molecular weight is measured using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

A laminated multilayer polymer containing film (P) comprises at least one layer comprising at least one copolyamide wherein the copolyamide is prepared by polymerizing the following components: (A) 15% to 84% by weight of at least one lactam, (B) 16% to 85% by weight of a monomer mixture (M) comprising the following components: (B1) at least one C32-C40 dimer acid and (B2) at least one C4-C12 diamine, where the percentages by weight of components (A) and (B) are each based on the sum total of the percentages by weight of components (A) and (B) and wherein the laminated multilayer polymer containing film (P) comprises at least one further layer, where the at least one further layer is selected from the group consisting of (i) at least one further polymer (FP) selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, poly(ethylene-vinyl alcohols), poly(ethylene-vinyl acetates), polyethylene terephthalates, polyvinylidene chlorides, maleic anhydride-grafted polyolefins, polyesters and ionomers and (ii) aluminum metal and/or tin metal.
