POLYCARBODIIMIDE COMPOUND, AQUEOUS RESIN COMPOSITION AND FOOD PACKAGING CONTAINER
Provided are a polycarbodiimide compound that enables an aqueous resin composition capable of forming a coating (layer) having water resistance and adhesion that can withstand use for food packaging to be obtained, an aqueous resin composition containing the polycarbodiimide compound, and a food packaging having a layer formed of the aqueous resin composition. A polycarbodiimide compound (A) represented by formula (1) below,

wherein R.sup.1 represents a residue obtained by removing a functional group capable of reacting with isocyanate from a hydrophilic compound having the functional group capable of reacting with isocyanate, R.sup.2 represents a divalent residue obtained by removing an isocyanate group from an aliphatic diisocyanate compound, and R.sup.3 represents a divalent residue obtained by removing a hydroxyl group from a glycol compound having 2 or 3 carbon atoms; X represents a group that is formed by reaction between the hydrophilic compound and the aliphatic diisocyanate compound; n1 represents a number of 1 to 10, n2 represents a number of 1 to 10, and p represents a number of 2 to 4; and a plurality of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each may be the same or different.
CROSSLINKABLE POLYSILOXANE
The present invention provides a liquid polysiloxane comprising a siloxane-thiourea segment and a crosslinkable functional group(s) selected from one or more ethylenically unsaturated groups, silyl hydride groups, alkylenethiol groups and combinations thereof.
Room temperature curable compositions
A room temperature curable sealant/adhesive composition is disclosed. The room temperature curable sealant/adhesive composition comprises: A) one or more organopolysiloxanes; B) a hydrophilic material; C) a cross-linker; D) a titanate catalyst and/or a zirconate catalyst; and E) one or more optional ingredients. A silicone elastomer formed therefrom and related methods are also disclosed. In general, such compositions (upon several hours of contact with water) do not repel water, but rather retain and pick-up water and/or can be wetted by aqueous materials subsequent to exposure.
Isocyanate-Based Adhesive
An embodiment of the present technology is an isocyanate-based adhesive used for a surface-treated crystalline thermoplastic resin base material, the isocyanate-based adhesive having a value represented by (JIS-A hardness)/(strength at break [MPa])×(elongation at break (%))/100 of 2.0 to 70 after being cured by being allowed to stand still under a condition at 23° C. and 50% RH for 3 days, and the crystalline thermoplastic resin base material having a value represented by (δ.sup.d/δ.sup.p+δ.sup.p) of 2.0 to 30.0. δ.sup.p=γ.sup.p−γ.sup.p0 and δ.sup.d=|γ.sup.d−γ.sup.d0|, γ.sup.p0 is a polar term of surface free energy before the surface treatment, γ.sup.p is a polar term of surface free energy after the surface treatment, γ.sup.d0 is a dispersion term of the surface free energy before the surface treatment, and γ.sup.d is a dispersion term of the surface free energy after the surface treatment.
SURFACTANT COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS RESIN DISPERSION, PAINT, AND ADHESIVE
Provided is a surfactant composition that can impart good polymerization stability, that can yield an aqueous resin dispersion having good wettability, and that can improve water resistance and water-resistant adhesive strength of a resin film formed from the aqueous resin dispersion. The surfactant composition according to the present invention includes a compound C1 represented by formula (1):

(in formula (1), A.sup.1 represents an alkylene group having 10 to 14 carbon atoms, A.sup.2 represents an alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, n is an average number of moles of an oxyalkylene group A.sup.2O added and is a number of 1 to 100, and X represents a hydrogen atom, a sulfate ester or a salt thereof, a phosphate ester or a salt thereof, or methylcarboxylic acid or a salt thereof); and a compound C2 represented by formula (2):

(in formula (2), A.sup.1, A.sup.2, n, and X are as defined in formula (1)). A molar ratio C1/C2 of the compound C1 to the compound C2 is 99/1 to 84/16.
EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION
A slightly colored or completely colorless epoxy resin composition includes an epoxy resin containing two or more epoxy groups in one molecule, a thiol compound containing two or more thiol groups in one molecule, and an amine compound, that forms a cured product having an a* value of −15 to 15 and a b* value of −15 to 15 as chromaticity features according to the color system.
Alicyclic epoxy compound product
Provided is an alicyclic epoxy compound product used in applications for forming a cured product excellent in heat resistance and transparency. The alicyclic epoxy compound product according to an embodiment of the present invention includes 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl(3,4-epoxy)cyclohexanecarboxylate, a purity of which is of not less than 98.5 wt. %, and each content of a compound represented by Formula (a) below, a compound represented by Formula (b) below, a compound represented by Formula (c) below, and a compound represented by Formula (d) below is not greater than 0.5 wt. %. ##STR00001##
