HYBRID SYSTEMS CONSISTING OF FOAMED THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS AND POLYURETHANES
The present invention relates to a hybrid material comprising a matrix of polyurethane and foamed particles of thermoplastic polyurethane comprised therein and also a process for producing such hybrid materials and the use of these hybrid materials as bicycle saddles, upholstery and shoe soles.
POLYURETHANES HAVING LOW LEVELS OF ALDEHYDE EMISSIONS
Polyurethane foams are made by curing a reaction mixture that contains an aromatic polyisocyanate, at least one isocyanate-reactive material having an average functionality of at least 2 and an equivalent weight of at least 200 per isocyanate-reactive group, at least one blowing agent, at least one surfactant and at least one catalyst, at least one cyclic 1,3-diketone compound and optionally least one antioxidant. Foams so produced emit low levels of both formaldehyde and acetaldehyde.
Appliances having sound and thermal insulation based on viscoelastic polyurethane
Thermal and acoustic insulation is provided to an appliance or a component thereof through a layer of a viscoelastic polyurethane foam. The selection of a viscoelastic foam of this density provides efficient thermal insulation as well as acoustic insulation.
NOVEL COMPOSITIONS FOR POLYURETHANE APPLICATIONS
A process comprising, consisting of, or consisting essentially of: forming a reaction mixture containing at least one polyisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive compound comprising at least one alkoxylated triazine-arylhydroxy-aldehyde condensate composition wherein the alkoxylated triazine-arylhydroxy-aldehyde condensate composition is a reaction product of a triazine-arylhydroxy-aldehyde condensate and at least one alkylene carbonate, is disclosed.
METHOD OF PRODUCING VIBRATION DAMPING AND SOUND ABSORBING FOAM
Vibration damping and sound absorbing foam formed of foam and fine particles present inside the foam so as to form bell-like structures in the foam is produced by performing the following steps [I] to [III] in the stated order. [I] Producing fine particles each having a surface coated with a coating material capable of being dissolved in at least one liquid selected from water and a solvent. [II] Mixing the coated fine particles into a material for foam, and producing foam from the mixture. [III] Immersing the foam in at least one liquid selected from water and a solvent to remove the coating of each of the fine particles in the foam by dissolution in the liquid.
LIGHTWEIGHT TILE
The present disclosure provides a lightweight tile. The lightweight tile has a tile body and a lacquer layer overlaying on the tile body. The tile body is composed of a rigid foamed resin having a plurality of void cells. The density of the rigid foamed resin is 0.2 to 0.45 g/cm.sup.3. The lightweight tile provided in the present disclosure is less dense than the conventional ceramic tiles. In addition, the heat insulation and sound insulation of the lightweight tile are excellent.
MELAMINE-FORMALDEHYDE FOAM WITH IMPROVED WEATHER RESISTANCE
Melamine-formaldehyde foam with improved weather resistance comprising 0.1 to 8 wt.-% of at least one UV stabilizer, such as benzotriazole derivatives and piperidinol derivatives and further 1 to 3 wt.-% of at least one hydrophobicization agent, such as organo-modified siloxanes and silanes and processes for producing such melamine-formaldehyde foams with improved weather resistance.
Formulated polyol compositions
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards formulated polyol compositions that include a first polyether polyol having an average hydroxyl number from 112 to 280 mg KOH/g, a second polyether polyol having an average hydroxyl number from 18.5 to 51 mg KOH/g, a third polyether polyol having an average hydroxyl number from 20 to 70 mg KOH/g, and at least one of: fourth polyether polyol having an average hydroxyl number from 112 to 280 mg KOH/g; and a methoxypolyethylene glycol having an average hydroxyl number from 56 to 190 mg KOH/g.
Flexible polyurethane and polyurethane/polyorganosiloxane foam materials that absorb impact energy
A polyurethane foam, a polyurethane/polyorganosiloxane foam, and a polyurethane foam polyurethane/polyorganosiloxane foam material are disclosed and described herein. The materials are formed in the presence of a polymerization reaction initiator (an isoprenoid compound), and a polymerization reaction accelerator. The polyurethane foam is formed from an isocyanate and a polyol. The polyurethane foam polyurethane/polyorganosiloxane foam material comprises the polyurethane foam which is cross-linked to the polyurethane backbone to a polyurethane/polyorganosiloxane foam. Optional gelling agents, emulsification control agents, reinforcement fillers, cross-linkers, reinforcement polymers, rubber reinforcers, silk proteins, emollients, stabilizers and colorants are also described. The polyurethane and polyurethane-polyorganosiloxane foam materials exhibit a high degree of flexibility, resilience and excellent impact absorption.
