METHOD FOR PRODUCING A POLYURETHANE FOAM BY MICROCASTING
Method for manufacturing a polyurethane foam by microcasting based on MDI (diphenylmethane diisocyanate) and on a polyol with a high ethylene oxide content, having an ethylene oxide content of greater than 50%, in which the following are mixed, under pressure, to form a foaming liquid precursor of polyurethane foam: a first reactive liquid, referred to as liquid A, comprising on the one hand a urethane prepolymer based on a first portion of the MDI and on a first portion of said polyol, and on the other hand the second portion of the MDI in the free state, said prepolymer being dissolved in this second portion of MDI in the free state; with a second reactive liquid, referred to as liquid B, comprising the second portion of said polyol and water as foaming agent,
characterized in that the amount of said polyol in the liquid B represents between 25% and 75% by weight of the total of said polyol; this method is advantageously used for casting a polyurethane foam into the cavity of a tyre casing.
BELT
In the belt according to the present invention, the whole or a part of a belt body is formed from a thermoplastic resin composition (C) comprising a thermoplastic resin W and a modified ethylene copolymer (B) dispersed and contained. therein. The modified ethylene copolymer (B) is preferably a copolymer, modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, of ethylene with at least one monomer component selected from (i) olefin components except for ethylene, (ii) diene components and (iii) ester components having an ethylenically unsaturated group. The belt according to the present invention hardly causes abrasion, damage, cracks, breakage and the like on the belt body and is remarkably excellent in durability, even if the belt is used at a high load for a long time.
Process for Preparing SVHC-Free Phenolic Resins
The present disclosure is directed to a novolac resin and a process for preparing a novolac resin including a low concentration of substances of very high concern. The novolac resin is formed from an alkylphenol composition including one or more alkylphenol monomers, one or more phenolic monomers, and an aldehyde and/or a ketone. The novolac resin exhibits desired tack performance, which can be beneficial for rubber applications.
Sulfur-based functional prepolymers for polyurethanes and polymeric materials
A composition includes a reaction product of a mixture of elemental sulfur and at least a first ethylenically unsaturated compound comprising a hydroxyl or carboxyl group.
PHOSPHINATE FLAME RETARDANT AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE THEREOF
A phosphinate or a composition of phosphinates obtainable or obtained by reacting at least a phosphinic acid of formula (I) with an oxirane of formula (II):
##STR00001## wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and independently represent H or a hydrocarbyl radical, with the exception that R1 and R2 may not each be H at the same time and with the hydrocarbyl radical selected from C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkyl groups, and wherein R3 is an alkylenyl group which is optionally substituted with a heteroatom selected from O, N and S.
The phosphinate or phosphinate composition thus obtained can be used as reactive or additive flame retardant, to manufacture flame-retardant polymers or flame-retardant polymer compositions.
