This invention relates to adhesive compositions comprising a polyester polyol that includes residues of at least one 2, 2, 4, 4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1, 3-diol, including, for example, 2, 2, 4, 4-tetramethylcyclobutane-1, 3-diol (TMCD). Adhesive compositions as described herein exhibit enhanced properties as compared to conventional adhesive compositions, and may be suitable for a wide variety of end use applications, including, flexible packaging, woodworking, automotive uses, and electronics.

The invention relates to a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer comprising:diacid units derived from diacid compounds, said diacid units comprising: a) from 92.50 mol % to 97.75 mol % of terephthalic units derived from terephthalic acid (TA) or an ester thereof, and b) from 2.25 mol % to 7.50 mol % of 2,5-FDCA units derived from 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (2,5-FDCA) or an ester thereof, anddiol units derived from diol compound(s), said diol units comprising monoethylene glycol units derived from monoethylene glycol (MEG), as well as to a method to prepare such a PET polymer. The invention relates also to the use of a 2,5-FDCA compound selected from 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (2,5-FDCA) and esters thereof as an anti-crystallization comonomer in a PET polymer. The invention relates also to a bio-based PET polymer in which the anti-crystallisation comonomer is bio-based.

Heat shrinkable film and method for reproducing polyester container using same

The embodiments relate to a heat shrinkable film and a process for regenerating a polyester container using the same. The heat shrinkable film comprises a copolymerized polyester resin comprising a diol component and a dicarboxylic acid component and has a heat shrinkage rate of 30% or more in the main shrinkage direction upon thermal treatment at a temperature of 80 C. for 10 seconds, a melting point of 190 C. or higher as measured by differential scanning calorimetry, and a peak temperature (Tp) of 95 C. to 115 C. as measured in the endothermic and exothermic curve (heat flow) by differential scanning calorimetry. It not only solves the environmental problem by improving the recyclability of the polyester container, but also is capable of enhancing the yield and productivity.

The polyesters may be manufactured into articles such as fibers, films, bottles or sheets.
