POROUS ARTICLES, PROCESSES FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to polymer compositions (C) for the preparation of porous article, notably microporous membranes or hollow fibers. More particularly, the present invention relates to a process of preparing a porous article from at least one polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) polymer with an additive and at least one reinforcing filler followed by a step of shaping the article and contacting the article with water to dissolve the additive and create an interconnected pore network within the shaped article.
Thermally insulated medium pipes having HFO-containing cell gas
The invention relates to a thermally insulated conduit pipe, comprising at least one medium pipe, at least one thermal insulation arranged around the medium pipe, and at least one outer jacket arranged around the thermal insulation, wherein the outer jacket possibly comprises a barrier made of plastic, and wherein the thermal insulation comprises a foam, the cell gas of which contains at least 10 vol % HFOs. Such conduit pipe has good insulating behavior, good environmental balance, and is easily producible.
Curative
An illustrative embodiment of a manufactured surface component may be comprised of a textile material on a first face and an elastomer material on a second face, wherein said elastomer material is bonded to said textile material, wherein said manufactured surface component is substantially planarly configured, wherein an area of said first face and said second face is from about 0.04 square inches to about 4.0 square inches, wherein a thickness of said manufactured surface component is from about 0.3 mm to about 2.5 mm, and wherein said manufactured surface component is substantially free of any petrochemical-derived plastics, petrochemicals, and toxins.
Molded foam
A molded foam that can be easily taken out of split mold blocks is provided. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a molded foam (1) is obtained by clamping, with split mold blocks, foamed resin obtained by melting and kneading a polyethylene-based resin, wherein the molded foam (1) has a MFR (190° C., g/10 min) of less than 0.8, or the polyethylene-based resin has a MFR (190° C., g/10 min) of not more than 1.0.
SANITIZING COVERS FOR ARTICLES
Disclosed herein is a mat comprising a first foam layer; and a sanitizer; where the first foam layer is saturated with the sanitizer. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing a mat comprising immersing a foam in a sanitizer; and saturating the foam with the sanitizer.
METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING DAMAGE STABILITY OF A SHIP
A foamable composition for injecting in a region of a ship, for example to prevent and/or reduce water ingress and/or progressive flooding in the ship so as to improve damage stability of the ship, is foamable to form a foam and is dissolvable in a removal composition. The provision of a foam, which can be dissolved by application of a removal composition, e.g., a solvent, may improve ease of removal of the foam, and therefore may reduce the cost and/or speed of reinstatement of the ship. The present invention also relates to a method of improving damage stability of a ship, the method comprising identifying one or more regions of the ship where injection of a material may lead to increase in ship stability, the material being impermeable to water and/or being capable of preventing migration of water.
Extrusion grade perlite reinforced polypropylene polymer
The invention disclosed herein is an automotive acoustic panel including a porous sound-absorption material made from a polymer and an expanded perlite. One or more silane compounds may be coupled or coated onto the expanded perlite while a coupling agent and a chemical foaming agent may additionally be added to the automotive acoustic panel.
PEI particle foams for applications in aircraft interiors
Polymer foams based on polyetherimides (PEIs) fulfill the legal specifications demanded by the aviation industry for aircraft interiors. Specifically, the demands on fire characteristics, stability to media and mechanical properties constitute a great challenge here. According to related art, suitable polymer foams are produced as semi-finished products. Reprocessing to give shaped articles is uneconomic in terms of time and material exploitation, for example by virtue of large amounts of cutting waste. The material is suitable in principle and can be processed to give particle foam mouldings. These mouldings can be produced without reprocessing in short cycle times and, hence, economically. Furthermore, this gives rise to new means of functional integration, for example by direct incorporation of inserts etc. in the foam, and with regard to freedom in terms of design.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE FOAMS USING CONDUCTIVE POLYMERS AS AN INFRARED ATTENUATION AGENT
A composition and method for making extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam is provided. The composition includes an infrared attenuation agent composition comprising conductive polymers to achieve an XPS foam having an improved thermal insulation performance. In some exemplary embodiments, the conductive polymers comprise doped polypyrrole and doped polyaniline. In some exemplary embodiments, the XPS foam includes a carbon dioxide-based blowing agent.
