Substrate independent copolymers for biofunctionalization

The present invention provides crosslinked epoxy-functional copolymer films and microarrays built from the crosslinked epoxy-functional copolymer films. Microarrays incorporating the copolymers include a substrate on which a film of the crosslinked epoxy-functional copolymer is disposed and target molecules bound to the copolymer film. The crosslinked polymer films are well-suited for use as scaffolds for target molecules in microarrays because they provide a high density of binding sites for the target molecules, are mechanically stable, and may be coated onto a wide range of substrates.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GAS DIFFUSION LAYER FOR FUEL CELL AND GAS DIFFUSION LAYER FOR FUEL CELL

A method for manufacturing a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell includes agitating a solution containing a precursor to form wire-shaped structures of the precursor and entangle the wire-shaped structures in the solution, adding the precursor to a surface layer portion of a porous base sheet or a base sheet precursor so as to fill pores in the surface layer portion, and calcining the base sheet or the base sheet precursor and the precursor in a range of 1000? C. to 1200? C., thereby forming a porous carbon that is composed of multilayer cavity walls of graphene and has mesoporosity and a hollow wire-shaped crystal structure.

LOW-K DIELECTRIC AEROGEL/POLYMER COMPOSITE FILM PREPARATION METHOD

The aerogel particles are mixed with organic solvent and dispersed to form an aerogel suspended solution containing the organic solvent, which can be uniformly aerogel/polymer solution with mixed various types of polymers or plastics solution by mixer, and then coated to form an aerogel/polymer composite film, and the steps of which comprises: organic solvent suspension dispersion, polymer solution mixing, coating film formation, drying and winding. The prepared organic solvent aerogel suspended solution can be evenly mixed with the matching polymer solution to form a uniform aerogel/polymer solution, and then the uniform aerogel/polymer solution is made into various thicknesses of aerogel/polymer composite film by the use of coating, laminating, extruding and other processes. The aerogel/polymer composite film has a thermal insulation and low-dielectric properties and can be applied in a dielectric layer of a high-frequency circuit, an insulation layer of a semiconductor device, or communication mobile phone, computer and other applications.

Processes for coating the interior surfaces of nonmetal materials

Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing nonmetal pipes, in a single operation. A nonmetal piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Nonmetal pipes with nonmetal fittings or nonmetal pipes with metal fittings or nonmetal pipes with a combination of metal and nonmetal fittings can be protected from wear by water erosion and rupturing, extending the life of pipes made of a nonmetal material selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene. Coatings can be applied to nonmetal pipes having diameters up to approximately 6. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of nonmetal pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the nonmetal pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.
