POLYSACCHARIDE-ELASTOMER MASTERBATCH COMPOSITIONS

Disclosed herein are polysaccharide-elastomer masterbatch compositions and processes for preparing the masterbatch compositions. One method comprises a step of a) mixing i) an aqueous polysaccharide dispersion, or ii) a basic aqueous polysaccharide solution, with a rubber latex solution containing a rubber component to form a mixture. The method further comprises the steps of: b) coagulating the mixture obtained in step a) to produce a coagulated mass; and c) drying the coagulated mass obtained in step b). The masterbatch compositions are useful in preparing rubber-containing articles.

Hydrophobic highly branched carbohydrate polymers
10653784 · 2020-05-19 · ·

A material comprising a highly branched carbohydrate polymer, a polyalkylene glycol (or polyalkylene oxide) linked to the highly branched carbohydrate polymer, and a hydrophobic or amphiphilic group linked to the highly branched carbohydrate polymer and/or the polyalkylene glycol (or polyalkylene oxide), is described. Methods of making and using the material, as well as a soluble composition that contains the material and a hydrophobic solute compound, are also described.

Embodiments of the present technology may include a method of reducing leaching from a fiber-containing composite. The method may include forming an aqueous dispersion of fibers. The method may further include applying a binder composition to the aqueous dispersion of fibers to form a binder-fiber mixture. The binder composition may include a carbohydrate, a nitrogen-containing compound, and a catalyst that catalyzes the reaction between the carbohydrate and the nitrogen-containing compound. The catalyst may be water soluble before curing but water insoluble after curing. In addition, the method may include curing the binder-fiber mixture to form the fiber-containing composite.

POROUS STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

Disclosed is a porous structure including water-soluble chitosan; and a carboxymethyl cellulose-based compound, wherein a weight ratio of the water-soluble chitosan and the carboxymethyl cellulose-based compound is from 65:35 to 25:75, and a process for preparing the same.

DRY COMPOSITION FOR USE IN HAEMOSTASIS AND WOUND HEALING

The present disclosure relates to a dry composition which reconstitutes without mechanical mixing to form a flowable paste having a soft and light consistency suitable for use in haemostasis and wound healing procedures upon addition of an aqueous medium. The disclosure further relates to methods of preparing the dry composition, methods for reconstituting the dry composition and medical use of the composition.

COATING POWDERED POLYMER WITH A WATER-SOLUBLE DYE AS AN INDICATOR FOR POLYMER HYDRATION STATE
20200115510 · 2020-04-16 ·

A method for determining hydration of a polymer includes mixing a water-soluble, powdered dye with a powdered polymer and introducing the mixed water-soluble, powdered dye and powdered polymer into a water-based fluid. Full hydration of the powdered polymer is determined when the mixed water-soluble, powdered dye, powdered polymer and water-based fluid comprises substantially no internal optical contrast.

Method of manufacturing composite products comprising a carbohydrate-based binder
10597516 · 2020-03-24 ·

A method of using an amine compound including at least one amine functional group, wherein the amine functional group(s) comprise primary and/or secondary amine functional groups, to reduce the level of furfural and/or hydroxymethylfurfural in a carbohydrate-based binder or binder composition and/or escaping in the course of preparation, cross-linking and/or curing of carbohydrate-based binders, is provided. The carbohydrate-based binder is obtained from a carbohydrate-based binder composition comprising a carbohydrate component, a cross-linker and optionally one or more reaction products of the carbohydrate component and the cross-linker, wherein the cross-linker is selected from the group consisting of ammonium salts of inorganic acid, carboxylic acids, salts, ester and anhydride derivatives thereof, and combinations thereof.

POLYSACCHARIDE SUSPENSION, METHOD FOR ITS PREPARATION, AND USE THEREOF
