SYSTEM AND METHOD OF COEXTRUDING A HEMP COMPOSITE BOARD USING HEMP FEEDSTOCKS
20250073949 · 2025-03-06 ·

A method for producing environmentally friendly, coextruded hemp composite board (CHB) is provided. By using hemp fiber and hemp hurd in combination with virgin and/or recycled thermoplastics, the system and method may be used to create environmentally sound substitutes for traditional construction materials. The method generally comprises steps of obtaining hemp hurd/fiber and injecting said hemp hurd/fiber into an extruder along with a thermoplastic binder. Waste products from other production streams may be added as well to reduce waste/cost of said production streams. The resulting CHB is structurally superior to traditional construction materials largely due to the dispersed hemp hurd and hemp fiber, their encapsulation in a binder material and lower hygroscopic properties. Additionally, since the CHB is created using an extruder, a downstream extrusion arrangement may be used to mold the CHB into shapes that are difficult to achieve with traditional construction materials.

MASTERBATCH AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

A masterbatch containing an organic base component and heat-expandable microspheres including a thermoplastic resin shell and a thermally vaporizable blowing agent encapsulated therein. The organic base component has a melting point not higher than the expansion-initiation temperature of the heat-expandable microspheres and a melt flow rate (MFR, g/10 mm) higher than 50 and not higher than 2200. A ratio of the heat-expandable microspheres ranges from 30 to 80 wt % of the total weight of the heat-expandable microspheres and the organic base component. Also disclosed is a molding composition, a foamed molded article manufactured by molding the molding composition and a weathers tripping.

Process for preparing cured polymers

The present invention relates to curing of polymers, particularly to self curing of polymers. The present invention provides a process for curing of copolymers of isoolefins and olefinic monomers. The process includes the step of reacting the copolymer with an azidation reagent to form an azidated copolymer and then heating the azidated copolymer at a suitable temperature to cure the polymer.

Method For Purifying Contaminated Polymers

A method for purifying a reclaimed polymer, such as a polymer reclaimed from post-consumer use or post-industrial use, is disclosed. The method involves obtaining the reclaimed polymer and dissolving it in a solvent at an elevated temperature and pressure to produce a polymer solution, which is purified at an elevated temperature and pressure by contacting the polymer solution with solid media to produce a purer polymer solution. A purer polymer is then separated from the purer polymer solution.

METHOD AND RECYCLING PLANT FOR RECYCLING PLASTIC WASTE MATERIAL

In a method for recycling plastic waste material, plastic waste material is supplied to a first screw machine and melted therein to form a plastic waste material melt. The plastic waste material melt is supplied to a second multi-shaft screw machine by means of a supply device and is processed therein together with plastic raw material to form a plastic material melt.

Method for surface treatment prior to metallization

There is provided a method for treating a surface comprising heating the object and the object with a solution comprising a thermal initiator and a polymerizable molecule, wherein the polymerizable molecule reacts with the surface and forms a covalent bond and optionally a covalently bound polymer on the surface of the object. Metal ions are bound to the surface to make the surface possible for adding further metal later. Advantages include that complicated geometries can be coated, problems with oxygen inhibition of the initiator is reduced, and surface reaction to form covalent bonds is promoted compared to the bulk polymerization reaction.

Chemical recycling of processed mixed plastic waste streams

Chemical recycling facilities for processing mixed plastic waste are provided herein. Such facilities have the capability of processing mixed plastic waste streams and utilize a variety of recycling facilities, such as, for example, solvolysis facility, a pyrolysis facility, a cracker facility, a partial oxidation gasification facility, an energy generation/energy production facility, and a solidification facility. Streams from one or more of these individual facilities may be used as feed to one or more of the other facilities, thereby maximizing recovery of valuable chemical components and minimizing unusable waste streams.
