The metal-fiber reinforced plastic composite material is a laminate of a metal member and a fiber reinforced plastic, wherein the fiber reinforced plastic includes a reinforcing fiber substrate (A) and a thermoplastic resin composition (B), the thermoplastic resin composition (B) contains a phenoxy resin (B-1) and a polyamide resin (B-2) at a mass ratio (B-1)/(B-2) of 80/20 to 20/80, an adhesive strength of the thermoplastic resin composition (B) to a monofilament of the reinforcing fiber substrate (A) is 40 MPa or more as an interfacial shear strength at 23° C. in a microdroplet method, and an adhesive strength between the metal member and the thermoplastic resin composition (B) is 7.0 MPa or more as a tensile shear strength at 23° C.
BONDING COMPOSITION FOR JOINING POLYMER COMPONENTS BY MATERIAL ENGAGEMENT
A bonding composition joins polymer components by material engagement. The bonding composition includes a solvent and a polymer material, which may be made from similar polymers from which the polymer components are made. There may be a kit for producing a polymer components and a bonding composition. The polymer production includes volatilization of the solvent and optionally melting the polymer materials.
CHEMOLYTIC UPGRADING OF LOW-VALUE MACROMOLECULE FEEDSTOCKS TO HIGHER-VALUE FUELS AND CHEMICALS
A method is provided for deconstructing macromolecules (MM) into lower molecular weight (MW) fragments in high yield by promoting first desirable reactions (Reactions1) that result in chemolytic scission of bonds in the backbone, chain, matrix, or network that defines the MM and obtain a first product mixture (Product1). The method includes conveying the prepared feedstock in a flowpath toward a reactor while adding a first agent of a first type (A1T1) suitable for promoting Reactions1, and a second agent (A2) suitable for promoting Reactions1 to obtain a first reaction mixture which is heated under controlled pressure.
Molded foam of ester-based elastomer, uses thereof, and expanded beads of ester-based elastomer
An ester-based elastomer expanded molded article comprising a fusion of expanded particles that contain an ester-based elastomer as a base resin.
Cationically curable composition and method for the joining, casting and coating of substrates using the composition
The invention relates to a cationically curable composition with at least one cationically polymerizable component, a first photoinitiator releasing an acid when irradiated with actinic radiation of a first wavelength λ.sub.1, and a second photoinitiator releasing an acid when irradiated with actinic radiation of a second wavelength λ.sub.2, wherein the second wavelength λ.sub.2 is shorter than the first wavelength λ.sub.1, and wherein the second photoinitiator, after irradiation of the composition with actinic radiation of the first wavelength λ.sub.1, shows an absorption of actinic radiation of the second wavelength λ.sub.2 in the composition that is sufficient to activate the second photoinitiator and fix the composition. Furthermore, a method is described for the joining, casting, molding, sealing and/or coating of substrates using the cationically curable composition.
RESIN POWDER FOR SOLID FREEFORM FABRICATION, DEVICE FOR SOLID FREEFORM FABRICATION OBJECT, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SOLID FREEFORM FABRICATION OBJECT
A resin powder for solid freeform fabrication includes a particle having a pillar-like form, wherein the ratio of the height of the particle to the diameter or the long side of the bottom of the particle is 0.5 to 2.0, the particle has a 50 percent cumulative volume particle diameter of from 5 to 200 μm, and the ratio (Mv/Mn) of the volume average particle diameter (Mv) to the number average particle diameter (Mn) of the particle is 2.00 or less.
Foam having improved feeling during use
A foam made of a specific material having superior properties and cosmetic products including the foam are disclosed.
Expanded pellets and method for manufacturing molded components using them
The invention refers to a method for producing expanded polymer pellets, which comprises the following steps: melting a polymer comprising a polyamide; adding at least one blowing agent; expanding the melt through at least one die for producing an expanded polymer; and pelletizing the expanded polymer. The invention further concerns polymer pellets produced with the method as well as their use, e.g. for the production of cushioning elements for sports apparel, such as for producing soles or parts of soles of sports shoes. A further aspect of the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of molded components, comprising loading pellets of an expanded polymer material into a mold, and connecting the pellets by providing heat energy, wherein the expanded polymer material of the pellets or beads comprises a chain extender. The molded components may be used in broad ranges of application.
CLICK CHEMISTRY FOR SEALANTS AND ADHESIVES
The invention described herein generally pertains to a composition that includes a silyl-terminated polymer having silyl groups linked to a polymer backbone via triazole. The silyl-terminated polymer is a reaction product of a functionalized polymer backbone and a functionalized silane. The polymer backbone includes a first functional group, which may be one of an azide or an alkyne. The functionalized silane includes a second functional group may also be one of an azide or an alkyne, but is also different from the first functional group. The functionalized polymer backbone is reacted with the functionalized silane in the presence of a metal catalyst.
