Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.

An object of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition from which a vulcanized rubber having excellent wear resistance and a high breaking elongation and a high breaking stress can be obtained. The rubber composition of the present invention includes a rubber component (A), a foaming agent (B), and a polyhydric alcohol (C) having 3 or more hydroxyl groups per molecule, wherein the rubber component (A) comprises 30% by mass or more of natural rubber based on the entire rubber component, and a content of the polyhydric alcohol (C) is 1 to 6 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component (A).

The various embodiments of the present invention disclose an peroxide-vulcanised TPVs based on Hevea Brasiliensis natural rubber, polypropylene and solid sulfonic acid doped polyaniline [PAni.DBSA] with useful electrical conductivities (up to about 2.10.2 S/cm] can be produced by using an internal mixer. The peroxide-vulcanised TPVs exhibit useful physical properties and also possess a reasonable good electromagnetic interferences shielding effectiveness. These peroxide-vulcanised TPVs could be recycled up to 4 times without significant loss of their EMI SE, electrical and physical properties. As a result, they have good potential to be used for manufacturing any EMI shielding products, such as EMI shielding seals and gaskets.

A particle diameter reduction relaxation time v may be found by plotting measurement results on a planar graph in such fashion that elapsed time t (minutes) since the start of agitation is plotted on the horizontal axis, and particle diameter f (m) of carbon black is plotted on the vertical axis, to obtain a best-fit solution.

An organometallic compound is incorporated into a vulcanized rubber matrix. A tunable, multi-phase copper sulfide lattice is compounded within an existing sulfur cross-linked morphology, as in crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires or other vulcanized rubber, whereby thermotropic properties of the rubber matrix are modulated. The process involves breaking of sulfur-sulfur and/or sulfur-carbon bonds through action of the carbon sulfide. The resulting rubber is suitable for use in applications typically utilizing virgin rubber, such as new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications. In other embodiments, an organometallic compound comprising iron acetate or alkaline earth metal acetate is incorporated into the vulcanized rubber matrix.
